Pete's Coney Island — Restaurant in Pontiac

I have been going to Pete since I was a kid here I am an adult still going to Pete’s in 2024 the man that works the grill awesome cooks the food very well very polite people person however the dark haired lady that wears a lot of makeup an speaks with Ebonics an works the cash register is very rude an Very disgusting she does not change her gloves when she takes your money. She handles your food with her same gloves on and has a hard time comprehending how unsanitary it is I hate to give this rating, but she is very disgusting and needs to be stopped i’ve never had an interaction with this lady yet she insisted that I tell her this every time even further disgusting me as someone else has been telling you this but yet you’re still doing the same thing I rarely go to Pete’s, but she was very argumentative and very nasty unfortunately, I will never be back and I encourage anyone that knows me to not go there either she clearly doesn’t care how she serves the people however, I do feel bad for the owner because he seems to be a nice guy, but the people that he have helping him can...

Step back in time to a small, but awesome little Coney place.

There is only countertop seating and everything is in view... watch your food as it's getting prepared. This place has great Coney dogs and is very popular with the locals, and those who come back to stop in when passing through town again...

You can be in and out of here in just a few minutes which is great if stopping for lunch while at work. You'll see all kinds of folks coming through here... those wearing suits, blue jeans, shorts, contractor attire, from the business man to the laborer, from the wealthy to the less fortunate.... but everyone is greeted the same.

The staff and ownership here are extremely kind people and I think this coupled with their award winning mix of dogs and chili (and other simple menu items) is what's allowed this place to be around for as long as it has.

If you're driving by, stop in and grab something to eat... you'll be in and out... and satisfied!

This is an amazing little family owned Coney island. I've been coming here with my family since I was 6. I'm now 44 yrs old! I have never had a bad experience with them. The staff are always friendly, polite and respectful. There food is absolutely DELICIOUS 😋!!! Don't let the price fool you. There worth there weight in gold. Lots of menu items to choose from and there cooked right in front of you. Over the years; the interior is not as flashy when I was little, but there very clean and sanitary.
