Donut House Bakery & Deli — Restaurant in Poplar Bluff

Here is a great place to get a great breakfast sandwich or a deli sandwich. They seem to be better know for their bakery and donuts but the sandwiches look fire. I’m not much of a sweets person but the gentleman in line grabbing donuts says this is the best in town. I tried their bacon egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast on a croissant and that really hit the spot.

The location itself is bigger than it looks from the outside. They do offer a drive through for quick coffee and donuts but there is also some seating inside to dine in. Parking is limited but the do offer a grab and go pick up shelf...

My husband and I stayed the night in Poplar Bluff on our way to OK, and we decided to try the Donut House on our way out of town. We picked up some cookies as well. Donuts were excellent, and the cookies were great. Service was not as great as the charming atmosphere and tasty donuts. Not any greeting, not one smile or engagement from the 4 or 5 employees working that morning. A little bit of a let down after walking into this adorable place! I mean, how can you not be happy about serving donuts...

I came in to order and was told I needed to wait by the blonde worker. I said "ok, no problem" since I was looking at the variety of doughnuts. Once more and more people came in, the Burnette worker finished with her customer and behold, the blonde wasn't busy (doing nothing but ignoring me) and helped the people behind me while the brunette helped me and got mad that she provided me with the last of a certain doughnut.
