I've been to 6 Hobby Lobby's in 4 states (FL, WI, MN, and MO), and this site in Poplar Bluff, MO has been the worst by a mile. I think I've had an employee greet me and ask if he/she could help me within 15 minutes at every store but this one. I've spent 5-6 hours in this location and NEVER been asked if I needed help.
Today, I stood at an aisle endcap back by the picture frames. (It is a high traffic area for employees - it's directly in front of a service counter and an employee backroom/office). After standing there for a few minutes, being offered no help, and hearing several employees chit chatting a few feet away (while I'm standing in their line of sight), I decided to see how long it would take an employee to offer assistance. After over an hour (I timed it) passed and a good 20+ times one of 7 different employees walked literally within an arm's reach of me, I asked for a manager. I explained to the manager, Racquel, that I had stood there for over an hour without any help, and she quickly became defensive and then patronizing. (I think she was defensive because she had walked by me 3-4 times herself.) I'd be more forgiving on the whole matter, but while I was standing there I'd constantly hear people like Tammy who was working the service desk chit chatting and BRAGGING about not even being willing to answer her phone if she doesn't recognize a number. "If it's important... they'll leave a message." I that's the attitude of the staff - they won't move a finger two inches to answer your call and they won't stop for 10 seconds as they walk right by you to ask if you need help.
I really like Hobby Lobby, but if I run into more locations like this one that'll...
Read moreI'm a big crafter I do all kinds of stuff so I used to go in here a lot but I stopped. One day I went in and the employees started following me around like I was stealing. No big deal at first I wasn't so I was like oh.. okay got what I needed and left. Next time I went in same situation but it made me upset because the employee was almost stepping on my feet watching me and every time I touched something she would ask if I needed help... No I'm good. So I got my stuff and left quickly. Next time as soon as I walked in they called for "security" to do a "sweep" this time I had two of them following me not letting me browse in Peace so I just left my things and walked out. By this time I had even started leaving my jacket and my bag in the car. I haven't been back and don't plan on it...
Read moreI usually come here for supplies for my cosplay props & whatnot alongside paint for various other hobbies of mine (...aand also cosplay lol), and it's always pretty easy to find what I need and the people working here are always so nice :-) I'm 17 (unemployed + disabled, u rlly find hobbies to pass the time when u have that whopping combination) so I don't have a lot of money but that's not ever an issue with the craft supplies here as it has a wide variety of paints and other supplies for cheap (compared to other stores I've tried in PB). Shoutout to the nice lady that answered my phone call cause it was the first time I've ever called someone other than my family and I was shaking in...
