Fresh Wok — Restaurant in Port Angeles

Very nice venue; good service. BUT - although food QUANTITY was ample, the taste and cooking QUALITY was POOR! Egg-drop soup had an oily texture to it (probably too much corn-starch). Eggroll looked and tasted like it had perhaps been prepared and cooked once, then [over!]cooked/"warmed" again - very dark, too-crisp, brittle wrapping. Main courses - kung pao chicken for my wife; almond chicken for me - were POOR! (Both of us left about half uneaten!): Kung pao chicken had tasteless chicken, vegies cut too large and not adequately cooked (e.g. large chunk of carrot was essentially raw!). My "almond chicken" had similarly-tasteless chicken with each piece wrapped in heavy breading (KFC would be envious!); couldn't identify anything that might have been an almond - or any other nut; entire mess was covered in a heavy sweet sauce of some kind; ample supply of rice, but large puffy grains that were similarly tasteless. My wife is Asian. We often eat Asian food, at numerous restaurants, cafes and vendors. This was noticeably worse than chain-store Panda Express! Next time we're in Port Angeles, we'll try the Asian Buffet. We spotted it after eating; gave it a quick look-see, and its buffet looks excellent. I feel so bad writing this review because everyone that works there is so sweet. But the food has been really bad lately and I don't understand what happened. Our pork fried rice was plain rice clumped together with soy sauce, a little steamed cabbage, and a layer of pork on top (no carrots, peas, onions, not even fried). The pork really freaked everyone out and went right in the trash. Half of the pork seemed fresh and the other half was like dried up dog food, we did not even understand what it was at first. I don't know if they were combining a new batch with an extremely old batch that's been reheated several times? I don't know. Our spring rolls were extremely overstuffed and exploded during delivery (SO MUCH CILANTRO, WHY?). Our shrimp was extremely undercooked and had a horrible texture. The literal only reason I'm posting this is because I feel like sooner or later someone is going to get very sick. I've frequented this restaurant for years and am so saddened by this. We let a couple bad experiences slide but but this was just a little too crazy. Won't be back. Every bit of this food went into the garbage and we had a lot of upset family. My wife had me order a meal for me her and our kids we got told the price for the meal would be a total of $88 after tax and delivery when they charged our card we got a message from the bank saying there was a pending transaction for $107 and when we confronted the manager of the place he called us a lier and that he was only charging us the price of the meal and that the bank would not know that a pending transaction was happening until he closed the bill on his end and any time a card is used in the card readers or the card is manually inputted it will show up even until its closed all the way thats why its called pending transactions we know that we had only used this card to place the order for our meal there since we had our deposit put on the card and didnt use it anywhere else according to the bank.
