I recently signed up with T-Mobile, and it’s honestly been one of the worst decisions I’ve made when it comes to phone service. There is virtually no usable coverage in Port Angeles or Sequim. I can be sitting in my house and have no signal at all, or driving through town with Google Maps running and watch it completely drop out in the middle of navigation. It’s unreliable to the point of being useless.
What makes this worse is that T-Mobile even has a store here. It feels incredibly misleading. You’d assume that if there’s a physical store in town, there must be coverage in town—but there isn’t. I can’t imagine the store exists for anything other than advertising and maintaining a corporate presence, because the actual service is practically nonexistent.
The situation gets even worse once you leave town. On the Olympic Peninsula, T-Mobile’s coverage is basically gone. The moment you get a few minutes outside the main roads, you’re in a complete dead zone. For anyone who lives here, hikes here, or even just commutes, this isn’t a minor inconvenience—it means your phone simply doesn’t work where you need it most.
The international plan isn’t any better. Despite paying for it, there’s zero coverage in Victoria, BC, which is less than 20 miles away. In Europe, the “included roaming” was just as bad—connections dropping constantly, speeds crawling on outdated networks, and in many places, no service at all.
The bigger issue seems to be T-Mobile itself. After buying Sprint, they had the opportunity to build out a stronger, more reliable network. Instead, they’ve essentially gutted their infrastructure in the name of profit. They market themselves as innovators, but in reality they’ve abandoned entire regions like this one and left customers stranded without service.
If you live on the Olympic Peninsula, travel internationally, or rely on your phone for basic navigation, I’d strongly recommend avoiding T-Mobile. The coverage just isn’t there, no matter what their ads—or their...
Read moreI signed up for a plan several years ago. Initially, the absolutely butchered the bill trying to double charge be and other various things. To be fair, the store rep actually told me they'll screw up my first bill, that I'll have to call to get them unscrew it. 3 calls later, my bill was finally corrected. When I signed up for their so called "Magenta" plan, I was told this was a locked in price, that it would not increase so long as I remained a customer.
Fast Forward 3-years of decent service later, and the just raised the price $10 on me. I call in to service, and their off-shore call center really couldn't have cared less, continuously telling me "I have one of the oldest plans" and that they "haven't raised prices for a decade". Replied, I don't care, I signed up under the agreement that my price was locked in.
So, I can't trust them. They broke their word once, how do I know they aren't going to raise it by $10 more in a couple months, and then a couple months later. I've been a customer for several years, and you're losing me as one since you're no longer...
Read moreFirst off, I've been a loyal T mobile customer for 5+ years. Overall, I'm pretty happy with my service. They also provide my home internet, and I've had no issues there.
I came to this store, in Port Angeles, to buy the newest samsung galaxy. I paid cash for the phone and the charge for them to transfer my Sim card and data. Barely 2 weeks later, my brand new phone quits working. Why? Because the physical Sim card is damaged.
While transfering my stuff, the reps at this store, looked at my Sim card, and decided, nah, we'll just use the old one.
The newest galaxy uses an Esim and not a physical sim card. This could have been a simple adjust.
Instead, someone cut corners, and I was left without a working phone, between 9pm and until I can get by T mobile. I am a bartender. I close a bar. My phone is a safety matter. Tonights issue made me feel unsafe, and frankly, infuriated.
I've been nothing but good to T mobile. To be so sincerely screwed, on account of someone else's shortcuts, just felt like a real stab...
