To start, let me make a confession: I may not have lived in Port Huron in 8 years, but it is my hometown in all the ways that matter. My history with Casey's isn't as long, as I first went there when my now wife and I started dating before moving south and then west. It might be impossible for me to fairly judge the place, but I will try. Casey's is not a place that should be judged by its name. There are a thousand Pizza and Sub joints in a thousand cities, serving their own interpretation of what usually ends up lackluster and substandard fair. This is not that Pizza and Sub place. The pizzas are all that anyone could ever ask, with an inspired selection of all the standard collection of toppings on perfectly chewy and thin crust. Italy could not be prouder. The appetizers are unique enough that a diner is not likely to get the equivalent locally, and they are a perfect compliment to what might be the best feature of the this delightful little joint. I first started experimenting with cocktails about the time my now wife and I started drinking, and I have her and my mother-in-law to thank for good guidance in developing my palate. Some of the first proper cocktails, something more than just a liquor mixed with whatever was convenient, that I ever had, were on the patio at Casey's. I was told the drinks were good, and I definitely enjoyed them, but it took years of mixing my own drinks, reading the old recipe books, and seeking out the best bars in every town I have traveled to from metro Detroit to Kalamazoo, Traverse City, and beyond, to realize that the bartending here is truly special. They have your craft beers, and they have all the standards you could ask, but they also have old fashioneds tailored to the whiskey chosen, and gin drinks that play on each individual spirits strengths in the best ways imaginable. They have the classics, executed with an understanding of the drink at its most fundamental level, and they have modern concoctions, exactingly made. I could say more, but I'll leave that for others. Please excuse me while I finish my deliver order tonight. Even delivered, I can't imagine another restaurant making my Paper Plane or my Kimchi Fries better on site. Try this place, and you will not be...
Read moreLet me start by saying Casey's has been one of our favorite places to order food from since we moved to the area.
Unfortunately, their service has been severally compromised by a completely incompetent staff.
It has been a standard Friday night treat for my family and I to order Casey's. We do it multiple times per month. Unfortunately, after this last experience my family and I will not be returning.
Lets begin: I called and placed an order for delivery. I gave the lady my number, she read back my address. I placed my order with her and happily waited for my food to be delivered.
Approximately 1 hour later I received a call from Casey's saying my order is ready for pick up. I explained that it was supposed to be for delivery. The lady immediately transferred me to a manager.
I explained to the manager the situation, citing the fact that this has happened previously. She became incredibly defensive and ultimately hung up on me because I questioned her competence at her job.
I called back moments later, requesting to speak to a manager and for them hold the spit in my food.
The second manager I spoke to claimed my number is not tied to an address..
Mind you, we order from here multiple times per month and the original lady read me my address after giving her my number.
Both managers blame their system. As I mentioned previously, this has now happened multiple times. I believe there staff, ESPECIALLY MANAGEMENT is completely incompetent at their jobs.
If you are going out to eat, your service will probably be aggressively mediocre. I highly recommend not using them for delivery.
Not to mention the fact that their own manager will simply hang up on you for calling them...
Read moreWent to Casey’s after Pub Crawl to try their food as I have never been there in the 5 years I’ve lived here.
I ordered a mudslide from the bartender, she made the drink amazing it tasted great and I was very impressed with the presentation that I couldn’t wait to drink it up yum 😋 🤤
The pizza dough fries were good but had me thinking well if I could order this why not order a pizza so I did. Undoubtedly I did enjoy my “breadsticks” and they were seasoned very well and I enjoyed the big pieces of parmesan cheese.
The pizza was delicious and presented the same as most places that have this style of restaurant. My only thing is i personally felt the pizza needed just a little more cheese to have the right consistency. It did however pass the cheese test for my first slice. I got the meat lovers and was pleasantly surprised that it didn’t taste like other generic pizza places. Crust was light but browned nicely and had a wonderful crunch. Would most definitely come back for a pizza and drinks. Bartender was awesome and she did a great job.
As always I will give the most honest and forward reviews so that you know what kind of place it is and if it’s the right fit for you. Take care...
