Was offered two choices of soup I opted to try the dill soup. You’ll love this if you enjoy pickles but if you don’t then this isn’t for you. It’s very interesting and very creamy, it’s quite the “Dillightful “ soup. Atmosphere is great I can see how this place lights up when it’s busy definitely can’t wait to do pub crawl and stop here. Bar has a wide variety as well the menu. Very rustic but upscale and new age. I order the filet mignon, the wider menagerie of colors on my plate was very appealing to my eyes. The filet I ordered medium rare and was I impressed when it came cooked correctly seeing as any red meat seems hard to cook for other places. However that’s where this joyful tale stops.
The potatoes and vegetables were so lack luster, vegetables were not done enough and still crunchy. The potatoes have a great texture and mix but it is overpowered by the pepper taste in it. The zip sauce compliments these but doesn’t overshadow the pepper taste. The peppercorn sauce was delicious but odd, had this sweet taste to it almost like a syrup or Carmel. Not bad but not what I was expecting.
Breakdown of the overall price is about average with most restaurants of this caliber, many others are higher class and much more expensive. The price doesn’t justify The poor vegetables and potatoes being over seasoned with pepper. If these were better I would agree that is highly justified. If you’re looking for a place for adults together or a date even I highly recommend coming here, I will be coming...
Read more$15 charge for bringing a cake to a birthday party that was reserved and the room was paid for. Justification…health department protocol. Actual justification…greed and poor service/direction from the top to turn off customers with nonsense up charges NOT explained when room was booked. Look at Hamlin Pub in St. Clair…no $15 made up charges and better food/drink specials. It’s Port Huron, not Novi.
Lastly, harassed by a server for placing this honest review by two different cell phone numbers with the threat of sabotaging my LinkedIn profile. It deserves to be called out that Audrey attempted to take my $15 complaint into her own hands and threaten to make my life difficult. She does not speak for the organization, OWNER Jeff is fabulous Christian man and he runs a very nice operation with a focus on class. Didn't even collect my $50 room reservation fee because until the night of the party because we knew mutual people from Salvation Army church. I fully support him and what he stands for, beware of the drama with the service team, if confronted can show proof.
Giving a second chance if Audrey is ever removed from the team. Terrific view and upscale culture I miss! Open to a one on one with owner to sort through the $15 charge fee issue and support this local business on the second floor...
Read moreTerrible. I went today and it was so bad. I'm truly sorry to say that because the place is gorgeous and I was hoping that it would be good since PH is short on good food. Nope. I was with group of people for a celebration so I (and other I was with) wasn't going to make a fuss at the time. The service for the type of restaurant wasn't good - drink were refilled ONCE in a lengthy meal, the waters never replenished. My uncle's standard alcoholic drink $15! My soup was supposed to be mushroom-brie but it was, at best, dishwater. Gross. Has to add basic seasoning to choke it down... it was sour! (I'm a foodie that worked in the industry for many years so I'm a decent reference of quality). The flatbread pizza was also bad. Overpowering cheddar on Napolitano-style flatbread? Six, tiny, thin olive slices on the whole thing? I ate half the pizza before I got a bit of asparagus. No other toppings were detectable. For $13. My companions got the pork chop special, advertised as juicy. It was overcooked, dry-as-a-bone, and was topped with what looked a like Sam's mango salsa. The potatoes and green beans were cold (not even room temp) on delivery. There was almost no one else there, and the wait was fairly long for the food. Sorry, my experience was terrible, and most fled as quick as possible. So...
