Foundry — Attraction in Port Huron

A two-hour custom mug pottery session might've been the best corporate team building event for the money we've done. The team at Foundry required very little prep or info from me to set up a session that touched on a lot of teamwork elements in practice and through interesting analogies as we learned to work with clay - no prior experience among us. They even seemed to look into what kind of company we were to personalize it. Denny was a very patient and knowledgeable instructor (the engineers/chemists among us enjoyed that he knew his clay chemistry) who made it fun and most importantly relaxing. We booked a hand pottery event for a girl's night out/birthday party. Our group consisted of 11 women from ages 21 to 78 who had never handled clay before! Denny and Pappy are not only masters of their craft, but are also the BEST teachers, giving us excellent directions and demonstrations. They interact with their "students" with just the right amount of support to prevent frustration yet allow for personal creativity. Carol and team at the Foundry have been fantastic to work with on my event planning! I have hosted two events/fundraisers this year in the Listening Room offered on the top floor with a gorgeous updated stage and bar area, and plenty of overflow rooms adjoining to host most any event need. Everything from booking, to day of set up, and on-site services, it was all a breeze. I have also attended a pottery making workshop and look forward to another!
