SUSHI 99 — Restaurant in Port Orange

Absolutely horrible and rude customer service. Placed a $100 to go order and was told it would be 35 minutes. Had my daughter swing by after she got off of work in to pick up the order and she was told the order did not even exist, even though the money had already been withdrawn from my account. Apparently prepaying for an order confuses them. The hostess was rude and condescending, stating that the order was in the prepaid order stack and she did not look there. My daughter was then told that it would be an additional 10 minutes before the order would be ready. After waiting again, she went back in and was informed very curtly, that it was not ready yet and it would be longer. This is the third time that the pickup time had been changed. Finally after waiting for almost an hour, we called spoke to manager and he informed us that the dining room had gotten busy and they had to take care of their in person customers. I guess "take out" order money is not as valued as "in person" order money. Extremely disrespectful and argumentative. I will be spending my hard earned dollars next time, with a company that values all customers that shows respect and honesty to the people that patronize...

Exceptional service and staff, and even better food. I've now been here quite a few times, and each time, I am always helped almost as soon as I walk through the door. I really enjoy the atmosphere inside, but I haven't personally eaten outside. During normal business hours, there's only about a 10 minute wait to get most sushi for takeout and not much longer during heavier times of the day. The staff are all really nice, and prices are quite good for the quality and tastes you're getting. There's typically more than enough parking unless during a very busy hour. Very clean inside. Revised- I've now been to this location at least 20-30 times. Mixture of takeout and dine in. I've personally never had a bad experience at this Sushi 99 location. I try something new every time I go, and I have yet to not enjoy anything I've tried. Highly recommend this Sushi 99 location for the great staff, quick, clean, and friendly service, and the all-around great food. The quality of the take out food is of the same quality as the dine in food is, whereas some other restaurants make take out food in bulk/or ahead of time. Up until this passed Sunday night I would have normally given this place 5 stars. I've been going to this restaurant about 4 months now and the food is really great. Apparently though, some of the serves (one in particular in this instance) are under the impression that when you tip on your debit/credit card that they can give themselves whatever amount that they care to have for their quality of service that night. This particular server was clearly new as she was a. not on her game like everyone else I have been waited on by and b. she kept missing things requested. With this being said, she was still tipped (originally) 20% on the total amount of the bill (before tax) but apparently she didn't see that as "fitting" for her evening. She took it upon herself to take a 30% tip instead. When we called to request that the issue be addressed and that the balance be corrected, we were told that the server was not there tonight and that it would be addressed with her and that there was nothing that could be done.
