I just visited via the drive thru, which has been converted to a double drive thru, and the closest parking lot entrance has been removed. Confusingly, there is a public land use notice sign out front to advise the public of their desire to make this change. It seems as though they did the work, THEN requested the permit and put up the sign. Removing that entrance and doubling the drive thru lanes unfairly impacts the other businesses on that road by increasing traffic between them and the main thoroughfare & the highway, for the exclusive benefit of this McDonald's.
Furthermore, they aren't posting their hours on their door. After eating in my car in the parking lot with insufficiently marked handicap parking spots (no upright signs, just pavement paint), I approached the entrance at about 9:40pm, expecting to enter and use the restroom before driving home. Despite the lobby full of customers (most if not all of them appeared to be a high school athletic team, and there was a white school bus parked out front in manner that partially blocked traffic through the parking lot), the door was locked.
I had been eating in my car since before 9:30pm and have the receipt to prove it. They locked their doors sometime prior, but allowed an entire bus full of high schoolers inside as some kind of apparent exception, I was soon to discover.
When I tried to open the door and found it locked, I looked toward the cash registers and saw several employees, including the manager, and the manager clearly saw me. I gestured in sort of "why?" fashion with my hands, arms and shoulders, to which the manager responded with a disgusted look before turning away to ignore me.
Before touching the door I looked at the hours, and they showed the opening schedule and drive thru closing schedule, but every day of the week was empty for lobby closing times. There were no signs saying they were closing early due to covid or staffing issues or anything similar. The entrance closest to the restrooms had a sign saying the door was locked, and directing people to use the other door (the one I was trying to use), which is pretty common practice for any McDonald's with this layout, understandably, for security reasons.
I waited about 5-10 seconds hoping I was mistaken, but she looked back at me, and again turned away looking annoyed that someone would want to come inside at 9:30-9:40pm, despite a lobby full of other customers. She never bothered to come say they were closed, or gesture in a way to indicate the same. It was honestly some of the rudest behavior I have ever witnessed by a manager at any restaurant in my life. I did call to ask if they were having a private party, and when the person who answered the phone (I suspect it was the manager) didn't answer immediately, I said I was just wondering why their doors were locked. She said they were closed, to which I responded by asking why a whole athletic team was allowed inside but I was not. She answered, and I quote: "They were paying customers."
I was a paying customer, too. Over $15 between my dinner and the nuggets I purchased for my dog.
After hanging up, I saw a man walking toward the entrance with his son and let him know they were all locked up and not going to let them inside. I had just closed the door of my vehicle when the manager appeared at the door, opened it to lean out and said something to the man and his son that made him hurry back to his vehicle faster than he had been hurrying (perhaps barking at him, thinking he was me because we looked vaguely similar? No telling...).
Moral of the story: this place appears to be suffering from management that is greedy, not personable, and seems to have no respect for the community they serve until the dollar signs get big enough. Their success comes at the expense of the adjacent businesses including two other restaurants, as well as the dining public. And soon, those business may be starved of customers to the point of shutting their doors, which means less competition for this McDonald's, and less choices for...
Read more07/24 update = normally we come here for a quick meal on a busy weekday because the service is normally really awesome. People are usually super friendly and nice.
But today, we placed a mobile pick up order on the app. The lady at the pay window refused to acknowledge us when we rolled up. Like usual, I was going to say no to a receipt because it's a mobile order. But when she continued to ignore us, I decided to just pull up the pick up window, no big deal. Then the employee at the 1st window yelled out to us rudely and swore at us. We complained to the nice girl at the 2nd window, but she wasn't helpful. The manager was standing right behind her, but she did she just clocked in so she didn't know who was working the 1st window.... just a minute ago, okay? Makes sense, idk 🤷♀️😩
So we went in to talk to the manager, and she just blew us off and said she just got there at 4pm. It was well after 4pm when we picked up our order, we literally saw this manager inside just a few minutes ago at the drive thru window. Instead of making a scene, because they looked busy, we decided to go home to call and talk to the manager.
I was also working at the time and had my disabled client with me. She had to use the restroom and almost slipped because the floor was wet with no sign.
When we arrived home and called to speak to the manager, she then repeated what she did in store... that she just clocked in and didn't know what was going on... and now that it wasn't her we spoke to inside. Now I'm furious, cause I get being busy, I get it's hard to deal with customers, I get everywhere is short-staffed, but an employee yelled and swore at us and you're paid to be a manager, right? We tried to talk to this lady via the drive thru, inside, and on the phone and now she's lying to me trying to gaslight me? It was indeed her, with the same speech about just clocking in at 4pm every single time 🤷♀️ my order was placed at 4:08pm on the app and picked up sometime after... idk, seems like after 4pm to me?
Anyway, she blamed it on another manager named Griffin and did not offer any further help.We spoke to you 3 times! And now you don't wanna remember that happened and wanna blame it on some other manager? Nah,...
Read moreMAN, talk about sticker shock. Quarter pounder meal, plus two quarter pounder sandwiches at a cost of $30.00 plus. The sandwiches were smaller than expected. I truly doubt if they were ever 1/4 pound before cooking. They were about the size of a regular hamburger back in the day. Indeed, where is the beef? I doubt the berger was beef. As I bite into the sandwich, the berger literally dissolved in my mouth without my chewing it. To make matters even worse, I ordered a large Dr. Pepper. When I got to the window to receive my food, I was given a coke instead. When I told the owner, who was working the window, that I ordered a Dr. Pepper, he told me to go around and wait for the replacement. I did so and waited eleven minutes for it to be brought to me. By the time it arrived, I had already eaten a very cold, small quarter pounder with cheese. I had opened the sandwich to see what a $6.00 quarter pounder looked like. It was greasey, lopsided, small berger with one pickle, no onion, plastic looking cheese that was half on the sandwich. In three bites, it was gone, and I don't have a very big bite. In short, I was extremely disappointed in the meal that I paid for. I just can't help but think that I paid the salary for two employees. ($15.00/each) I can tell you this, for the price that I paid versus what I got, I was cheated. I will not go back to any McDonald's and pay for a meal like this at the price I paid. I would go to the grocery store, buy my own hamburger meat and cook it myself rather than spend good hard earn money on trash meals at McDonald's. THEY JUST PRICED THEMSELVES OUT OF BUSINESS, in my opinion. I ordered a Frappuccino and asked for some napkins to wipe the side of the cup down. It was handed to me with the whip cream running down the side. So much for good service. This plus the wait time for a soda and cold bergers didn't sit well with me. The sad thing is, I wasn't the only one who was asked to go around and wait. There was a long line of people waiting for their meals. 😕🙁☹️☹️☹️ I'm asked what meals would I recommend. I would recommend going else where. Where you might get your money's worth at a better...
