Please share this post if you don't mind and help me ensure that the staff involved in my review see my post. Monday, October 22, 2018 around 9am, just a little more than a week after Hurricane Matthew made landfall. Power was very scarce, and I hadn't had a cup of coffee for the entire work trip to the panhandle. Hoping for a miracle, I pulled into McDonald's in Saint Joe Beach and the store was partially open. The lobby was closed and service was drive thru only....and there were maybe 30 or more cars in line. I am certain that tension was soon to escalate to verbal arguments and with all the stress in those people's lives right now it could have went past the point of return in a hurry....someone had just (most likely by accident) skipped the line, someone a few cars back blew their horn at the driver trying to place an order at the non working menu speaker box. I rounded the back corner of the restaurant and could see people getting their order and smiling. I had no clue what was going on, but every one, the driver and passengers looked the manager working the pick up window was tell funny jokes to every car....and on that side of the building, the tension dissipated...and it was replaced with and a laid back chill good mood beach vibe that wiped out the impatient and stressed of the irritated patrons with a quickness. When I got to the window, the manger was calling back to the cook what to do, then looked at me and said how many. I still had no clue. I said "1". She handed me a bag with English McMuffins, sliced apples, and a hash brown + bottled O.J. I tried to give it back for just a large coffee but their generator was too small to run coffee makers. It was really cool to see bad moods turn into happiness over such a simple gesture of kindness by McDonald's and it reminded of the way things used to be....the way normal everyday life used to be, when it was actually a great place to grow up and retire to. Kudos to McDonald's management or whomever made the call Monday morning to be so generous. It is well past time for all of residence to be better than we have been. Love your neighbors, hug them, help them, and they help you! Always display warm southern hospitality without regard for who may or may not be watching you. Those that help others often get the biggest reward by feeling proud of themselves. It's a wonderful feeling.
Just FYI, piping hot cups of delicious coffee can be found in SJB... at a small storefront (bookstore I think) on the side of 98 opposite McDonald's. and then 1 block back. The business entry door has a cup of coffee on it. The owner said later that day they would have their full service mocha/latte coffee bar going and lattes for everyone. Be sure to share this post with her as well....the folks at ACE hardware, all the contractors that work hard for you....and piss on the ones trying to take advantage of the situation. When someone quotes you a fee for their services, go to Facebook. go to several neighbors, or get another contractor to give a quote. It keeps the process honest, the good contractors will stay busy, and overtime the slimy contractors trying to make a quick buck at your expense will be run out of town.
PSA: Every contractor experience should be shared verbally, and on social media....facts not opinion though, and don't get personal if possible. Sharing helps your friends and neighbors know who to call when they have a similar need. Sharing experiences is a win win win for everyone.
Thank you for the warm welcome Saint Joe Beach residents👏👏👏and businesses👏👏👏 Sometimes, people just need a win, they need to catch a break, they need to feel good, and you guys seem to understand that. Saint Joe Beach folks have done an outstanding job to be so kind while in the midst of a natural disaster. Hats off to you all and those displaying awesomeness.....all the way to Panama...
Read moreMy family and I went through the drive-thru for a quick bite. We ordered three large fries, two frozen cokes, and a frappuccino. The lady on the loud speaker sounded annoyed and did not want to communicate. When I placed my order, she merely replied by saying, in a high-pitched nasal tone, "I can't do that."
There was nothing special about our order and I was very confused. When I asked her what she couldn't do. The girl only replied by saying, "I can't do that." When I asked her again what she couldn't do was it the fries, the fozen Cokes, or the Frappuccino. The lady said again "I can't do that."
So I repeated each item on our order and asked if she could prepare the item.
"Can you make the fries?" Long pause... "yes..." "Can you make the frozen Cokes?" Long pause... "yes..." "Can you make the Frappuccino?" Long pause... "I can't do that..."
I replied, "Okay, so change the Frappuccino to a frozen Coke. So we'll be having three frozen Cokes and three large fries." And all I got was dead silence... We waited for a few minutes for the reply, but no confirmation came. Eventually we just drove around to the window and paid for our food.
To my shock and surprise the order was taken correctly. However, our fries seemed stale, like they were left over from yesterday and then refried that day.
To the lady that took our order, I'm sorry you don't like your job. But all I wanted was a three fries and three frozen Cokes. If you don't like your job go get another one, there's no need to be rude to anybody. I was very courteous to you and you were very rude to me. We will not be...
Read moreThis is the worst McDonalds I have ever been to. On first appearance the restaurant looks nice, however, customer service is horrible. There is a slight smell at the register. We stepped forward to place our order. We stood there waiting about eight minutes before someone finally took our order. I could understand if they were slammed busy but that was not the case. The crew was all laughing and playing around. Finally we placed our order; large coke, large iced coffee, large frappe, two triple cheeseburgers, and a Mcdouble with extra pickles and extra onions. We were told to move down and get our drinks and the food would be out shortly. I stood there and waited. The food didn't take long, however, I waited about ten minutes for the coffee and frappe. While waiting a elderly gentleman came up because his order was wrong, they made his sandwich wrong six times. I finally got to sit down to eat. First thing I noticed was the bread was dried out. Then with my first bite I noticed not only did my Mcdouble not have extra pickles and onions it had none what so ever. So I went and complained and it was more waiting. I get back to my table and my daughter tells me that they put the extra pickles and onions on her triple cheeseburger. Unless you want bad food with the awful customer service I would stay far away. Wish I could rate...
