Atmosphere is great. Cozy, love the airplanes & artwork. The line to order was long right after we arrived. Staff is great. Lady taking the order was knowledgeable about offerings & explained options well. Also staff with collecting drinks & food was friendly as well. Food that we tried wasn't all that great. We ordered the breakfast sandwich. Husband said he wouldn't go out of his way for it but said it was better than Dunkin & Starbucks. He also got the carmela pancake plain, not a good choice on his behalf. He said, which I thought was obvious but he said, don't think you're getting a regular pancake. (They had a picture on the screen menu, I thought he knew it wasn't a regular pancake. I feel like it's a 'him' problem). I got the pancake as sold with granola, blueberries & strawberries. The carmela pancake was tough to get through. Multiple bites I had to talk myself into finishing it. Dry, nothing special. The cinnamon muffin however that we ordered for our 3 yr old was phenomenal. Better than decent. It was perfect. Gooey, had a crunch, perfect amount of cinnamon, fluffy. Really great muffin. I'd definitely order that again. My husband ordered a small iced cold brew. Said it was okay. I, not a coffee person AT ALL, ordered a small iced mocha with espresso & chocolate syrup & coconut milk as a substution. I could be wrong but I think that's how it came. It was great. I finished it. It was better than I thought. Probably would ask for a few more pumps of chocolate though lol. Overall, I'd go back for the coffee & muffin for sure. I think if that's all we got we probably would've given this review 5 stars. Our total was about $56-$57 dollars. If we go to first watch we usually spend about $65 dollars. I'd take this as a to go option or if you're in the area get a quick option to go. And the trip from PGA Verano to this location at heart in the park took about an hour (to & from, ordering & waiting for order) on a Sunday morning at 9am. Also I'm happy a cleaner option is available to PSL residents besides fast food chains.
Another side gripe I have is that some of the items shown on the screen menu are not listed/typed out on the screen menu. For example the club sandwich & acai bowl. I ordered looking at the typed portions then I noticed the picture of the acai bowl after ordering & I was like, dang I should've ordered that. Also the muffins are not listed on the screen menu. The muffins, crossaints, brownie are off to the left with handwritten sticks. Seems like they're not fixed parts of the menu perhaps? Anyways, it can be overwhelming going to a new place to order & for a first timer I was looking at 3 places to search for items. Off to the left of the cashier, the screen menu & slideshow of food pics. Also prior to walking in, we considered ordering online but they may have turned off the option due to the high demand.
Also went in on Saturday Oct 4th 2025. I ordered 2 cinnamon & a blueberry muffin (reflected in receipt i attached). I waited & the guy called for my name. I was tempted to check myself but the muffins were placed in 3 separate small brown bags. In order to check I'd get the sugar they sprinkle all over my fingers so I asked the guy, 2 cinnamon & a blueberry? And he said yes! I had to reassure myself that he confirmed & take his word. I always check myself. I ended up getting 2 cinnamon & a cranberry orange. Which I've already tried the C.O (and its good but not as good ss the cinnamon one) & my kid doesn't prefer that one. So I opted to try a new one. I get that this place is new but that is not a new place mishap. That's just below average service. Then at home I asked my husband to cut half of the blueberry muffin & he's saying which one is blueberry? And I'm like what do you mean? It's blueberry! And he's like it's looks purplish pink so I got up & took a bite & confirmed it's cranberry orange. To add to my disappointment, I forgot (because I am NOT a coffee person) to substitute for coconut milk instead of milk. So I couldn't drink the other half of the coffee lol it...
Read moreAs far as the atmosphere of this place; it felt upscale for a coffee bar. When you walk up to the counter to place order it seemed well staffed only mostly under trained and easily distracted. They weren’t unpleasant but, lacked enthusiasm and warmth especially for a new setting. 2 meat empanadas, turkey provolone sandwich and large iced chai latte w/ hazelnut to go was about $35.00 One of the staff members was kind enough to remake iced chai latte as it was too sweet on the first go. The second was definitely better and I appreciated the effort. I shared my order with family to try and we all agreed that the meat for the empanadas was seasoned yet dry and somehow still bland. The dough might have been underbaked also lacking flavor. The turkey sandwich was unfortunately underwhelming with what seemed like 3 slices of deli meat and maybe a slice and 1/2 of provolone cheese slathered with either mayonnaise or some kind of white dressing on a puffy bread that just didn’t taste quality grade for the price. Couldn’t eat the bread and no side added to the sandwich order at all. I had high hopes for the food and am wondering if my selections were simply an oversight by kitchen staff on this particular day. I didn’t take a picture of sandwich but, sharing the pictures I did take of beverage...
Read moreI don't often post, but the food I received was so poorly made that I had to share this. I used to live very near to the Carmela Coffee in Broward County, FL and bought their outstanding food all the time. I hoped that would be the case now that I live in PSL. It was not. I ordered the $16.80 Strawberry Quinoa Salad and an almond croissant. The salad is typically served in a large, round container in Broward County and is so large I can eat it for two days. Please witness the picture of what I received here in PSL. The almond croissant I ordered was burnt. While the atmosphere of Carmela Coffee in PSL is lovely, if you want the real thing, do yourself a favor and take a trip south. Down in Broward, they are food artisans at Carmela Coffee. Unfortunately, here in PSL, those preparing and handing out the food do not seem to care. I'm shocked at the quality of food I was given and am very...
