I've have been passing this place every time I drive down Bayshore and I always say I have to stop in. Will today was the day and I'm so glad I did!! We ordered a small brown stew chicken and a medium escovitch fish. The portions were generous. As the picture shows I couldn't wait to dig into mineš I had to stop myself from finishing but once I did I realized I was full. So I'm glad I have the other half to enjoy later. The flavors definitely gave what I hoped they'd give. You can taste the love that went into cooking it!ā¤ļø We also got a Ting and their made in house fruit punch (AMAZING!!) For the time of day that we visited they still had a good selection to choose from. I only wished they had some plantain to add to my meal so if have that sweet element but it was all still delicious nonetheless. I'm so happy that this gem is so close to my house. I'll absolutely be back to try their cornmeal porridge on Mondays. The establishment is cozy, so much so that I ate my portion in store as they have tables and chairs inside as well as outside. Good tunes playing on the mounted television and the young lady at the counter that served us, Akilah, was incredibly sweet. Very happy to have authentic Jamaican representation so close to homeš„°
Thank you guys. Keep up the great work!!
Oh, they also have potato pudding, more homemade drink options and breakfast items. Don't sleep...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI got a jerk chicken, stew peas and a side of jerk pork to sample for my next visit. Let's start off with the jerk chicken, it was tasty and had just enough heat, as im not a fan of food being too spicy/hot. The jerk pork was tender and again just enough heat. I like that they didn't go over the top with the spice/heat for folks like myself, so we can enjoy the taste of the food and not scream from the spice levels being too much. They do offer some jerk sause on the side for the spice/heat lovers but I opted for the always popular Oxtail gravy. Last but definitely not the least the STEW PEAS,the reason for even doing this review is actually for the stew peas. I was lucky enough to get the last order they had for the day so you know I was HAPPY. The portion was good with it being a size small. The taste/flavor was on point. In my opinion m, its not stew peas if it does not have pig tails in it and that they had. I bought the food yesterday sat April 20,its now Sunday April 21,I woke up wanting some more stew peas, so I call them up, I was pleasantly greeted by a Renee who informed me that stew peas is available at the restaurant on Wednesday, Fridays and on Saturdays.I responded telling her I'll be there in Wednesday April 24 for a large stew peas this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was not disappointed by the beautiful flavors of Jamaican breakfast here! Ackee and salt fish, white yam, grilled bread fruit, boiled dumpling, green banana š¤¤... It was my first time for ackee and I'm an instant fan. My husband who is Jamaican was not disappointed either so I know it was on point, because he has no issues complaining if things are not right. Now I will confess we wished there was just a little more of the ackee and salt to get down all the goodies like the grilled bread fruit, and it certainly was not a cheap breakfast, if I would have added the drinks I wanted it would have been almost 50 dollars. But, I don't want to mark him down for that, because I'm sure it's expensive to source his supplies and this food will heal you from the inside out, especially if you spring for the fresh juices!!! Much love. One love, all the love to this place. Sorry I was in such a rush I didn't take any pictures and over usual once I had that food I didn't even think of taking a photo of it. The other photos on here were really accurate, the flavors are where it's at!...
