Cottonwood Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Portage

My wife and I, first time there. The two bartenders (I didn't get names) were amazing, genuine, caring, and did a tremendously GREAT job! I told them it was our FIRST time there but it wouldn't be the last. My wife had the Wood Burger and fries; cooked EXACTLY like she wanted them. She said it was delicious as I also found out because she couldn't finish it. Tasted amazing! I had the Chicken Wings and they were cooked to perfection. Not over or under cooked. Worked and retired from the Federal Prison and the military; both in Food Service and Customer Service. I would have loved to had these two young ladies working with me. They are amazing gals and do their jobs extremely well! Whoever owns this Bar and Grill has Awesome Staff that they hopefully are thankful for. Wow.

Walking in; the music was quiet enough where you could be heard without yelling, but still feel the bass in your chest. Sitting down; the service was prompt and polite, and the food was spectacular.

Katie was our; bartender, server, and cook. Initially I was impressed that she attended to us so quickly, being out of towners in a pub full of locals.

Serving drinks, she mixed custom orders well and was attentive to when our cups were running dry.

She took our order for food shortly thereafter and began to prepare it. The cheeseburger she cooked for me was the best bar burger I have EVER had. Medium rare, juicy, toasted bun, melty cheese, and the char broil that Burger King used to be good at. The fries were top notch as well, crispy on the outside, while chewy on the inside.

Lisa and Elise make this place AMAZING. If you are passing through Portage stop in for the best Gyros I have had outside of a big city Mediterranean joint. Amazing bar food, some of the best I have ever had. In the pre Covid-19 days the popcorn was awesome. They have darts, pool, and slots. Daily drink/food specials are great, but the everyday prices are as well. The house DJ is a good, his sound system is insane.
