Texas Roadhouse — Restaurant in Portage

A bit pricey but well worth it. We had to wait about 30 min. We went on a Sunday about 430-5 . It was packed. Once we got a text to come in, they had us at a table right away. Just a few moments later a waitress came and got our drink & appetizers order. She brought a basket of rolls with both whipped butter and the whipped cinnamon butter. So good 😊 We ordered potato skins and fried jalapeno n cheese bites It took only about 5 minutes to bring our drinks . sprite, blue crush lemonade and a tall blue moon beer. That's when the waitress took our dinner order. Hubby had 18oz Porter house steak with mushrooms on side, salad and loaded baked potato kids meal of steak bites & steak fries country fried steak & mashed potatoes with white gravy ( can order brown gravy ) and an order of corn Appetizers came out in about 10-15 minutes. Potato skins were great for the most part , lots of bacon. There were plenty of the " rattlesnake bites" The atmosphere is fun and the staff are so friendly & all are willing to help customers to make their dining experience wonderful. A few people had birthdays . the staff would get together and clap as they headed to their table. Then Introducing the birthday person so the whole restaurant could say hi & Happy birthday. The staff encouraged everyone to say " yeehaw" . Granddaughter enjoyed that part. About 15 minutes after receiving appetizers our dinners came. Granddaughter loved the steak bites Country fried steak is HUGE & tasted fantastic could have used more gravy. Porterhouse was just as big, very tender. It was excellent along with the loaded baked potato. Neither of us could finish our dinners. Definitely fills you up with lots of leftovers. We ordered another sprite and blue moon beer. The waitress brought it within a few minutes. We ordered one of the brownie desserts in order to try it. That was about the only disappointing thing. Brownie was hard at first even with ice cream on top melting. It was thin and very crispy around the edges. One thing we won't order again. The staff were amazing!! As I said it was packed however they worked well as a team. Our waitress was kind, engaging and attentive. When you leave most team members you encountered on the way out were super nice, each one would thank you for coming and wished you a good night even though they were busy. This restaurant has one of the best staff I've encountered. For the 3 of us it was $110.00...

Man oh man! My experience here was so poor it felt like an episode of the twilight zone but I’m almost willing to go back for the steak sauce. Anyways my server was Bryn / Brin ? And I honestly am still reeling from confusion because the service was that poor. I will preface with im a regular at Logan’s roadhouse down the road and get complimented on how I’m a ‘favorite table’, I am well mannered, stack my dishes, & tip VERY well. So, my coworker who is a regular at Texas told me to try them, I truly wish I could get my money back. First of all upon arrival there was a slight rush, but they’re obviously popular, once seated our table hadn’t been wiped, which my friend addressed not I. I would’ve wiped it myself , nonetheless rather than get a rag our server just quickly wiped it with her hand? Odd. Furthermore she did not greet us. Throughout all interactions she kept it short and whipped around like a ballerina leaving no time for us to reply. No greeting is probably the most flabbergasting thing of the whole experience, she then seemed very inpatient and irritated to be there, however I continued to give her grace and gave her multiple opportunities to turn this around she did not. We had to ask for bread and it didn’t come until after we got our drinks (@ least 20-30 minutes), she also only brought one butter? Additionally we had to ask for silverware when the food came. Prior to leaving after I’m consistently giving her grace for her rude & unprofessional demeanor, & incompetence I asked for a to go cup for my water, she responds, ‘I can’t give a cup with alcohol on the table’ — in this situation there is two options a) take the alcohol & bring the cup b) bring a to-go water but refusing water isn’t the appropriate course of action. So after I rapidly blinked and requested her to just bring a to go water. Upon bringing the check she didn’t say bye. It was so awkward and tense and odd. I will never cheat on Logan’s again and I pray for the staff at TRH cause I’m not sure the...

AT ONE TIME this was a fun place to dine with friends and family. UNFORTUNATELY, the service is now horrible. The staff is literally RUDE. The free peanuts are no longer available. The service is slow. So basically every aspect of this resturaunt has gone DOWNHILL. We requested a reservation for a party of 20 people. THE LIED to us, claiming they could accommodate us. We made a RESERVATION. At the time of our reservation, they weren't ready. They told us we had to wait. There is nowhere to wait except outside the building. Eventually they told us to come in and wait by the doors where the servers were coming in and out of the kitchen. WE WERE GETTING DIRTY LOOKS and nasty, exaggerated "EXCUSE MEEEEEEEEE" shouts with attitude voices from the serveres. Contrary to their claim when we made the RESERVATION for our group, there is no large group seating. So instead of being one large group, they divided us into separate tables in which we were unable to celebrate together. We regretted choosing this place before we had even began to order. They don't do the dance anymore. They don't do the birthday celebration anymore. The quality of the food is degraded. The filet was like chewing rubber. The baked potato was drowned in salt. The vegetables weren't even cooked, maybe microwaved?

Whoever the manager is of this place, they should be dismissed from their job, along with the servers who gave us nasty looks and arrogantly kept telling us that we were in their way. This goes down as one of the WORST DINING EXPERIENCES I've had in decades. But of course, why would they care? We're just a number, quickly replaced by future unsuspecting customers who will most likely get the same treatment.
