Maui Poke — Restaurant in Portage

Staff was friendly, the place was clean.. however, I don’t see this place making it if they don’t improve some things. Immediately when you walk in it’s confusing as to where you should place your order. The entire menu is not near the spot you place your order, either, and it’s entirely handwritten in chalk. Menu is very large and probably overwhelming to customers given the concept that the restaurant has. All it needs is a few bowl options on top of the build your own. Soy sauce or poke sauce at the table would be nice. Staff, although friendly, seemed confused as to how the place is supposed to operate and some things were out of stock. Needs some guidance from owners or an experienced restaurant manager. No way would it be able to handle a rush the way it is...

I decided to give them a try today. The restaurant was empty at 1:30. It was very clean and bright inside. I was greeted with a warm welcome. The menu was large and had many different variations of bowls. I chose the Hawaiian bowl which was considered jumbo. There was beef, shrimp, veggies, pineapple and so much more. The sauce was tangy and tasty! It was enough food for at least two people. As soon as I got to my car I took a pic& sent to a friend and said “You have to try this place!” I had leftovers that my son tried and he was also sold! Update: I want to say I didn't have to call back they refunded it the next day and offered to correct the mistake, things happen, and I appreciate the way they corrected this issue. Above and beyond what was expected.

Ordered a poke bowl for $21+ and it had times well past 7pm. 6:59pm was the earliest and they were closed when I got there. Google and their site mention nothing of being closed. They don't accept voicemails so I can't even leave a message. Therefore, I will have to take time out of my day tomorrow to hopefully reach someone for a refund. Very disappointed as I have to wait for a refund and find another place...
