Eve Salon + Spa — Local services in Portage

First time at this salon. It is certainly a high-end operation for this area, with every single bell and whistle a customer could want. The front end wasn't as welcoming as I would expect given the reputation this salon has for customer service. When I arrived I felt like I was in a sorority house on rush weekend. I got a brief "hello" and "who are you seeing today?" I wasn't invited to sit down or offered any refreshment although there were other customers snacking and having beverages. My stylist, Deborah L., was on time and very pleasant. She was smart, hip and had an urban thing going that was refreshing. She's serious about her art and took plenty of time to talk to me about what I wanted done. She showed me every product she used and explained what it did. I have curly, frizz-prone hair which requires a different skill set to cut. She did a great job. Been awhile since I left a salon completely happy with the results. Updated review: I began my journey with Traci who is no longer a stylist here. When she left, I began seeing Jen, had a few good visits, and my last visit went poorly- to make it short (picture below) I cried over the results of my hair coloring process & left my initial review of Eve Salon. Having since been contacted by Sarah the owner, I feel inclined to reevaluate. My 1 star review was a product of the unfortunate circumstance of having a bad outcome that was due to multiple factors. But I have had many more good experiences than bad, during my time here. I feel it is only fair to highlight that as well. My wedding hair turned out beautiful & was the most beautiful color. I chopped my hair & got bangs here that I still love. & when I did have a bad experience Sarah reached out within hours to make it right, and she truly did that and more-treating me more than just a number, but as a person. I am grateful to say, this experience in full, has revamped my desire to continue my journey with Eve salon + spa and see what other experiences they offer beyond the top tier...

I will not be returning and I hate to give even 1 star to this salon. When I called to make an appointment I was told a partial highlight was going to be around $80. I showed my stylist (who was the manager) a picture of what I wanted and when I left it was nothing close to what I wanted or what the picture looked like and my hair has no issues grabbing good color. As I proceed to check out with my hair looking nothing like what I want I owed $120!!!?? I waited a couple of days to see if I could adjust to the color but didn't. I was so upset I paid more than what I was told for something I didn't want. So I called back for a touch up. The same stylist (the manager) put a 15 min toner in my hair, quick shampoo, 15 second blow dry in the front then sent me on my way with the rest of my hair soaking wet!
