I regret the low rating here, because Sonic gets an EASY 5 stars from me, in general. This is the only location in my area since I moved from California, so I keep going back...and I keep having trouble.
The taste of the food is no problem at all -- it's wonderful, but most of my orders, especially this year, have had one thing or another done incorrectly.
The farthest one in memory was a snowy day, the carhop asked me if there was anything else I wanted, to which I happily replied, "Just my change." Remember the snowy day part...well, I was standing in that snow, in only a sweat shirt, (I drive a large truck that's hard to get into a bay or the drive-thru) for what seemed to be ten minutes before I had to push the order button to ask for my change again.
I feel like there was another incident in-between these that I'm forgetting... Not sure right now.
There was one occasion when I ordered two shakes, one with whip and cherry, one without whip. The same carhop as before brought out two shakes with whip on both. I said, "This one's supposed to be no whip," after seeing the first one. Rather than asking me about the other drink, or giving it to me, she rushed off with both, only to return with no whip on either one. I was too annoyed and in a hurry to leave, to give her a third chance.
Today, I think I may have been the target of either a prank, or a complete lack of basic human logic. On my lunch break, I ordered what has recently been my favorite shake, a large cherry peanut butter. It's kind of like a peanut butter sandwich, in shake form. :)
This has gone without incident a couple times, so imagine my surprise, when I sucked a cherry stem through my straw. I know there are people out there who would sue the company over this, as this is a potential choking hazard, especially if the victim were a child.
I was terribly annoyed, as I was already having a bad day, but the shake tasted good, so with (illogical?) hope that the one stem was the only problem, I continued on working and sipping. As I got closer to the bottom of the cup, however, more chunks were felt and more stems were seen.
Having gotten home now, I gave my new candied cherry collection a rinse, revealing seven whole cherries, four more stems, and chunks of others that I probably broke up with my straw. Please note I am not counting the cherry that was expectedly on top of my whip.
So, Google users and or representatives from Sonic, do you think I should take this further into contacting the company, or hiring a lawyer for today's negligent behavior?
I should also note that, in general, the employees are friendly, polite, and don't mess things up. On the down side, this branch seems to be understaffed, as orders almost always take longer than I remember them taking in Anaheim, Fullerton and the other California branches I used to frequent. Also, no roller skates here. What's up with that, lol?
I wish I could afford to go to Dairy Queen regularly, really I do, but their shakes are more expensive, and their food isn't as good. I like Sonic very much, but this branch is eating away...
Read moreWe stopped ordering from here about a year ago because we had ordered and the order got messed up, we called and got it "corrected" but it was still wrong, so we called them and they comp'd us a meal for later. We used that comp about a month later and it was still wrong. Got it comp'd again for a later time and when we finally ordered again it took a manager to make it for it to be right on the 3rd try. Ok getting to today now. We decided to try them again. Ordered online, picked up order got back to work and order was wrong. So I called and asked to speak to a manager, the person on the phone said I'm a manager so I told him what was wrong about the burger (it was missing bacon that I was charged 89 cents for) and that we didn't get our sauces that we put in during our online order, online it says no charge for sauces. The fries was cold as well but I didn't get to say that and online it says it comes with groovy sauce which I did not get. He goes on to tell me that they can remake the burger or comp it for another time but as far as the sauces go he said even if it's on the order they don't add em in because they charge for it and online it shows up as free of charge. I stopped him and said ok how would we know that. If we put it in our order how would we know that you won't include them due to there being a fee. He says we are a franchise and I stopped him there and said I understand that but how would we know that the sauces/condiments we put on our order won't be included. Why didn't the worker giving us our meal mention that. I also told him we have no problem in paying for it. His tone changed and he got short with me. Repeated himself and said we can pick up our burger another day and again as for the sauces we're not jus going to add them to the bag. So now I have to endure another meal and hope it's not messed up again. So I paid for bacon thatni didn't get and we didn't get condiments because there is a charge for them which if I was told that I would've paid for them. Help me make that...
Read moreMy first-ever trip through a Sonic drive-thru was an experience I didn't know I needed. It felt less like a fast-food run and more like a discovery. Pulling up to the speaker, I didn't know what to expect. There was no bustling line of cars, no hurried voice on the other end; just a sense of quiet anticipation. I placed my order, drove off from the window, and a moment later, succumbed to the temptation of my cheeseburger a bit into the ride home.
One bite into that cheesy goodness, and I knew I had stumbled upon something special. It was the perfect combination of hot, melted cheese, savory beef, and a warm, toasted bun. I felt a wave of satisfaction wash over me, a feeling that went beyond a simple craving. I couldn't stop eating it, and I quickly realized that the rest of the ride home was going to be a struggle to save any of it for my wife.
When I arrived home, my wife, seeing the look of pure bliss on my face, asked how it was. I didn't give her a wordy answer, a testament to how good it was. Instead, I simply said, "You have to try it yourself." It was an invitation to share in my discovery, a challenge to see if she would have the same reaction.
I handed her the burger and watched as she took a bite. The look on her face was all the confirmation I needed. She just smiled, and with a loud "uhm," she conveyed a thousand words of approval. That simple reaction was better than any perfectly wrapped meal, as it was a shared understanding of a new favorite.
This first taste of Sonic was more than just good food; it was a moment of shared joy, sealed with a smile and a loud "uhm." It's a reminder that sometimes the best part of a meal is the company you share it with, and it's definitely a memory that will bring us...
