Do Drop In — Restaurant in Portales

Absolutely the best local place to eat in Portales. AJ's is a close second, and the only reason I put it a notch below is because Do Drop has been there longer. They are FANTASTIC to the local college students in town. Family atmosphere, too. They recently hosted a community art contest based on their signature sandwich, The Green Monster.

I remember when they were at their old location, however. I miss it. They had a garden area out back and frequently had local musicians play live music there. One of the first things I remember doing in Portales was eating one of their gigantic ice cream cones, listening to blues on a cool summer evening. Then I remember walking all the way from campus to buy my roommate one of their Green Monsters, because I HAD to show him how good the food was.

This is another local shop thats very community and family oriented. We deal with the owner regularly and you'll never feel more welcome than right here at Do Drop In.

This is one of those places where you walk in and the owner will ask you, and other customers "the usual?"

Her and her staff and so committed to the people they service, they build and establish last relations with everyone and it shows every day.

The food is always amazing, never had a bad meal from this little shop, the only thing I wish they would add is some home made chips or fries. They have a selection of top of the line sandwiches, coffee and even ice cream, as well as some great sweets like muffins.

After being stationed here for 6 years we have just received orders. :( But before we go I just wanted to share how amazing our experience has been. Do Drop In is one of the reasons we loved being stationed here. The owners are friendly, loving, and the food is perfect! They offer options for certain allergies or diets that cannot be found at other dining areas. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. They offer board games for those who want to stay awhile or you can order by phone if your in a rush. We had our sons first birthday at Do Drop In, he is now 5!
