This cute little spot is very hip (in the black metal seating and minimalism decor sort of way), very cute. I got the famed marionberry poptart which lived up to the hype. I got a season pistachio drink that ended up being a little too sweet for my taste (I was told it was slightly sweet but was surprised when it was full blown). Latte art was beautiful. The barista was wonderfully helpful and gave a full rundown of the offerings. This is not a work in a coffee shop sort of cafe. The tables are small yet cute. Better to plan for a short visit.

MUST VISIT! The clean white aesthetic made the space feel even bigger. Plenty of seating for a neighborhood coffee shop. Our 9 year old loved the brownie and home made pop tart! Pastry program is top tier, also loving their support in hosting local pop ups. Noticed the barista is a local latte art winner, and the matcha was elite and so delicious! Espresso and drip were incredible. They are currently using beans from a coffee roaster in the UK. Highly recommend picking up a bag before they run out. Will be back!

Wow. Just, wow...

First of all, Nick (owner and current sole barista) is flipping amazing. He greets you with the best energy and can get you to laugh within seconds.

Secondly, you cannot find a more perfect espresso anywhere else. I haven't been to a ton around here but I already don't need to and will want to come here anytime I'm near dt Portland. He has every shot dialed in PERFECTLY and does it so quickly I don't know how it's possible. I can confidently say that I had the best espresso of my life in this very location.

Nick really knows his stuff. He sources beans internationally from renowned roasters, including the Netherlands and Denmark, each with their special nuances and "extraction style" (e.g. turbo shot with Sweet Valley beans, or 6-month wait for the Novo Horizante)

On top of it all, he has pastries from a nearby bakery, Farina, which we tried and loved! We got the everything gallette. Imagine an everything bagel w/ cream cheese had a baby with a croissant.

I'm not enough of a literary artist to explain why I love this four-month-old-GOAT-in-the-making beyond this, but trust me, your friendly internet stranger, you'll want...

I happened to walk past Adapt this afternoon only to discover that it has only been open for a month!

The owner, Nick, is a really cool guy with an interesting perspective for what he wants from the cafe. Portland coffee is great, he told me, but with the pandemic he started getting burnt out on it and wanted to introduce coffee from other parts of the country to Portland.

For its part the hazelnut latte he made me was really well balanced, not as sweet as I'd maybe make it myself, but just sweet enough to bring out the complexity of the coffee. This one (which I forgot the name of) is definitely very acidic, but in a way that comes across as strongly raspberry.

Very impressive! It's great to see more activity coming to...
