Birrieria Pepe Chile & Catering — Restaurant in Portland

Stopped here based on reviews earlier today around 2pm. I ordered the Birria Pho and 2 birria street tacos. My rating is based on the fact that the birria meat in the street tacos were barely warm, which made me feel uneasy about how long they had been at that temperature. Next, the Birria Pho came without noodles, no consommé, instead beans and rice. Service was difficult as the woman could not speak English and she had to call a translator. Some confusion as to what was ordered, turns out all the Birria Pho ingredients were unavailable so they subbed without asking. This combined with the barely warm tacos just made this experience unappetizing and I chose to get a refund. Ordered the “Super Torta” for lunch today. The staff was incredibly friendly and full of smiles! The Torta was phenomenal! I opted to add jalapeños. Their hot sauces were soooo good! My favorite was the salsa roja, and the habenero salsa was super spicy but tasty! The food took about 8 minutes which was super reasonable. The sun was out today so the seating outside was perfect. They’re in the process of adding a covered patio area directly next to the truck so once it’s complete there will be a dry spot to eat on those rainy Portland days. Will be back again, highly...

Went today hoping for good quality birria. My family and I are highly disappointed. The food is salty and super small for over priced food. Customer service is horrible. Asked politely for some consomé and was immediately told in a very high pitch voice it was an extra charge. $3 dollars for a tiny cup. There Horchata is basically water and store bought powder gross. Plus they add seafood to there birria mix who does that. I myself am allergic to it and I clearly mentioned it to them. Thank God I didn’t try it. My family did. Never going...
