12/31/2024: 4.85 out of 5 - This Life of Pie Pizza is one of the most visited pizza place we often come to because my wife's mother LOVES the place! So, an update is needed.
We come up from Milwaukie which is a bit out of the way for us for pizza. But, it is worth it for us since we do enjoy good pizza. There are other items, such as the Argula-Kale Salad.
The Arugla-Kale Salad is amazing, and full of flavor! However, allow me to point out that I prefer NOT to do salads outside my home, but I will make the exception for this particular salad from Life of Pie.
All-in-all, this particular location is always clean, the staff always helpful and nice, and are particularly quick with the beers. Over the years the menu has condensed but the quality hasn't changed.
So, if you happen to be in the area, definitely worth trying once and deciding for yourself.
Enjoy!
04/20/19: 4.5 out of 5 - Just got back from an international vacation, and Life of Pie is the first place we wanted to go to!
I dislike salads, but again, I must repeat, Life of Pie's Kale-Arugala Salad is very good!
Pizzas...those pies speak highly of itself through its taste through your taste buds.
Service has been consistently great!
I guess I'll just keep coming back for more, and more, and more.
03/08/19: 4.5 out of 5 - Ever since this place opened, I've been a fan that hits up Life of Pie at least once a month, and I live in Milwaukie! I'm not much a salad guy, but I do enjoy their Kale & Arugula salad. It's definitely a must try if you're in the area. I know I'll be coming back.
Definitely try it once and decide for...
Read moreThis would have to be one of the worst dine-in pizza experiences I’ve had since I was 17 and went to a Pizza Hut in Montana where our meal was interrupted by a rat! The inside is fairly spacious. Probably about 15 small sized tables they can put together to form bigger tables. The atmosphere is LOUD. Hard to hear each other. I entered the restaurant around 5:40pm on a Thursday. It was fairly busy- the tables and bar area was filled. We placed our order at the counter, was given a number and was told they’d grab a table for us as soon as they had one. Only had to wait about 5-10 minutes to get a table- Not bad! The worst part was we didn’t even see our food until 6:50pm. Over an hour from when we ordered the food. No one checked in on us during this time ether. When our food was delivered, a waitress came by to check if we were enjoying our food. By the time I was on my second slice, another waitress came by (I figured this was a manager who would apologize for the delay, I was wrong) told us to move to another table so they could make room for a larger party, WHILE WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF EATING! are you kidding me? You had a whole hour to move us to a different table and decided to wait until we had begun to eat our pizza? Awful customer experience. No apologizes. It seemed like this place was run by a bunch of 20/30 year olds who just wanna make pizza and collect tips...probably why they want you to tip at the beginning. The pizza itself was actually fairly good. Unfortunately our dine in experience was so poor we probably weren’t able to fully enjoy the pizza. Don’t dine in. Just order ahead of time...
Read moreLong story short: CHECK THIS PLACE OUT. IT’S WONDERFUL AND IT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY WITH THE RIGHT ORDER. Long story: Alright, listen, I’ve lived in Portland all my life and i’ve Visited tons of pizza places here in the metro area. I have to say that life of pie has completely blown me away for multiple reason: -Lowly lit and laid back atmosphere. Find your own seat (if you can) and bus your own tables. It’s almost always loud and busy, but the restaurant manages to STILL feel comfortable. -The pizza is PHENOMENAL; depending on what you order. Mix and match your orders to find what your fix is. Do note that ordinary staples like artichoke and pineapple aren’t available. Available ingredients include truffle oil, goat cheese, etc. One thing you’ll notice regardless of whether you love your order or not is that the crust is chewy, flavorful, and crispy. Now normally I find myself to leave out the crust when eating MOD pizza, Or generally any other pizza place I can think of, but with life of pie I find myself indulging in the perfectly cooked crust. Not once has my order been charred. Huge admiration for that. *first time trying it out? Play it safe with their margherita & mozzarella pizza. Feeling boujee? Add some goat cheese and blow your tastebuds away. -and finally, the service is quick (for how busy it can get) but friendly. Prices are definitely reasonable for how much quality goes into each pie. If you’re trying to decide to visit life of pie or some other pizza parlor in the Portland metro, go here and you WONT be...
