A well known, donut shop where one can grab something flavorful for breakfast. They have a decent selection of unique, gourmet donuts to choose from and most will be able to find something to tickle their fancy. In addition, coffee, bottled water, and other beverages are available for purchase. This location is in the unsecured section of PDX (before security) so all drinks will have to be consumed prior to proceeding to gates. Prices are also high but relative to the standard up charge of most airport purchases.

I am not a huge fan of donuts. I absolutely had to try these. Exciting flavors. While I wanted to try many of them I opted for just one. I do fly through here at least once a month so I have time to try others. The cost was $5.25 for the apple cider apple fritter. A little high? Maybe. It's definitely a specialty donut. It has more of a dense center which I actually like. The size is larger than what I would call a "normal" donut. I'll definitely try more in the future. One at a time.

The Blue Star Donuts at the PDX is just as good as the other locations in Portland based on my experience. I visited 15 minutes before closing and there were three options left. I chose the raspberry rose pistachio donut. It was filled with sweet and tart raspberry that paired well with the rose and pistachio. I would definitely come back in a heartbeat for any of their offerings.

I absolutely love Blue Star as a whole but what stuck out to me about this particular location is that they actually do something I’ve been yearning for which is SAMPLES.

Today on my return flight to Portland, I snagged a donut for the road and they had put out a plate of small pieces of the pumpkin old fashioned (which is SO good btw)

Why this is important to me and review worthy? In full transparency and in my personal opinion because I know that every one’s taste buds are different, I believe blue star is VERY hit or miss so it makes trying and exploring new flavors very hard. I’ve had several experiences where I branch out and try something new and don’t like it at all and wasted $5 and my sugar quota for the day.

You can see why the idea of samples is huge for me and probably many others.

Keep experimenting, blue star, but don’t expect your most loyal followers to continue...

Not a donut person, until now. What heinous fkry is this. Needed coffee and they had Stumptown so as I'm waiting to buy coffee I'm smelling the aromas of the different selections and my bionic nose is like...you must bring this closer. Ok, nose, you often do me a solid, I will get you one to bring close. So i buy one of the 8 possibilities that have enough interesting ingredients that nose would be happy. I almost bought the vegan mexi chocolate or the raspberry rosemary but I picked the Cointreau creme brulee before they told me I had better stop huffing the goods. Holy crud Batman... light orange flower scent and flavor in the incredibly well made custard interior. A brioche style dough with a crunchy- brule crackle on the outside. Guess there are donuts for me.. Why gd do you forsake me with one more tasty thing to avoid?? The staff at the airport location PDX are...

I have been wanting to try Blue Star donuts in the PDX airport for over a year. Today I finally got the chance to score two donuts. They have desirable flavors that look delicious. I think they may need to retrain the staff though. My donuts were over cooked and greasy. The flavor was OK, but marred by the burnt taste. I think if they could do some spot quality assurance they would be more successful. I walked away thinking, how can my Safeway donut for $1.29 be less greasy and more enjoyable than this fancy donut. They have a donut happy hour where you buy 1 get 1 - 50% off, so, It was...
