Updated: This is my first time back to Casa Soraya this year and after +6 months. I was a regular before that time. The food is still great and if you have never gone, you should definitely go. I am changing my rating from 5 to 4 stars in the food because I was very disappointed to see how small the plates are right now compared to last year. I had the Causa that was one of the reasons I was going often to Casa Soraya but now the dish was less than half the size and I could barely see and taste the potatos, among others. Picarones, Empanadas also down from 3 units to 2. I understand costs have skyrocketed and it's probably the reason why they have to size down but some of the signature flavors that made me go over and over fainted or were gone in some of the main dishes we ordered. I still love this restaurant and I definitely want to give it another try but for the first time (I think I've been there +6 times) I felt disappointed. Service was excellent as always and the new covered patio is amazing. I will definitely go back and try again. I still believe this is one of the best Peruvian restaurants out there. ------------ This was my first time here, I wanted to go for so long and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, I ordered different empanadas as appetizers and Lomo Saltado as main. The meat was perfectly cooked and high quality. I've tried many peruvian restaurants in Portland and this was one the best. The pisco sour and picarones also really well made. The service was very friendly. Food came quickly. The outdoor patio also very comfortable. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes.

I traveled to Portland for the first time and this is my best dining experience in Portland (besides Salt & Straw ice cream)! We arrived 10 minutes before our initial reservation and had to wait 11 minutes for our table (which was fine). We asked for the menu twice but it took them ages to give us one so we just asked Google. Their menu on the website is not updated and some photos in Google Business are more accurate. The heated 'patio' was nice and warm (it is actually built indoors/in a closed environment). The set up is bright and it was bustling with people. Service was slow and it took the staff a while to take our order. We ordered the Causa de Camarones (shrimp and potato) for the starter and the Ceviche de Pescado and Seco de Cordero (lamb) for entrees. I loved everything we ate (even though the lamb was a bit heavy with beans and rice - double carbs). The waitress was friendly. To elevate the service, I suggest that the restaurant train their staff on menu pairing suggestions and dish recommendations. For example, the waitress informed us that the lamb dish would taste pretty cilantro-y (it wasn't so). She could have given a 'disclaimer' or personal thoughts on how heavy our meal could be and suggested a lighter pairing (room for desserts!). A small note: When we left, everyone said thank you (except the waitress who took our order). Overall, it was a good experience and I definitely recommend this place / want to come back when I am back in Portland again!

This place has very delicious and authentic Peruvian food. It was worth the drive for us since we live near Beaverton. We tried the Lomo Saltado and Seco. Both were very tasty, made with quality ingredients and served in great portions. Our family has been to Peru many times and can say this place does a great job at keeping it authentic. We highly recommend it! UPDATE (June 2023): The food at this place has actually gotten better, more refined, more sophisticated. The atmosphere has matured into a beautiful ambiance of its own. I highly recommend the Causa de Camarones, Papas Rellenas, Ceviche de Pescado, Seco de Corder and Arroz con Chaufa. They can make the Calamar in the Ceviche de Pescado and Arroz Chaufa gluten free, and they have various dishes marked Gluten Free and Dairy Free on the menu. Also if you want a little alcohol, try the Pisco Sour, both the original and the passion fruit ones are great. Enjoy!

Such an amazing dining experience! Let me start by saying that the service was incredible and never once did we feel rushed. We ordered two appetizers and two main dishes - chicharrón de puerco, ceviche carretillero, arroz con mariscos, and a seasonal fried rice dish… ALL were outstanding! The chicharrón was by far the best I’ve had here in Portland… and I’m a Cubana from Miami; we eat a healthy amount of chicharrón! The pisco sours (classic and passion fruit) were delicious! I would easily return just for drinks at the bar (when indoor seating opens up again). Lastly, we sat in their outdoor section and the ambience was… truly magical. They have a pergola with little white string lights hanging all around you. It’s the perfect date spot. Wow, Casa Zoraya… just wow.

What a delightful find! Casa Zoraya was a great experience from start to finish. The restaurant is nicely decorated and spaced out, indoors was air conditioned which was great on a hot day. The outdoor patio is gorgeous and shaded for comfort. All the servers were very knowledgeable, attentive, and kind-spirited. They answered all our questions and made sure to check in on us through the duration of our meal. The food was incredible- ordered the Ensalada Verde, which was fresh and delicious. Aji de Gallina and Lomo Saltado Criollo were cooked beautifully. All the dishes were well seasoned and balanced. The bartender also did a phenomenal job on our drinks. Already can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.

Empanada de aji de gallina ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I think this might be my favorite dish Arroz chaufa ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - loved the pork belly - I really loved how the vegetables were cooked for this - I like the combination of texture, I liked the crunch Seco de cordero ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - didn't have a bad lamb after taste - maybe a little too much rice for me, wish there was more vegetables and beans - preferred the arroz chaufa more maybe Ceviche pescado ⭐⭐⭐✨ - wished there was more actual ceviche - didn't love the kernels - but adored the ceviche itself Arroz mariscos ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ - something about this, I adored a ton - it wasn't overly heavy - wish it was a little warmer, came out cold for me Batida morada ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - like a smoothie - not too sweet
