Absolutely appalled. I picked up my son from the airport as he returned from Army basic training and A training. The waitress wiped the table down after giving us our drinks and menus, which was weird. We got our food. I thought my omelette was fine. My son said the fryâs tasted bad. Like bad oil. He literally just spent 4 months eating MREs and Chow hall food. Then my husband had about 5 bites of his chicken Caesar salad. He said âthis chicken tastes weirdâ. He ended up throwing up. This man has an iron gut. He told the man working and he went ballistic. Waving his arms all around. He said what do you want me to do about it. My hubby said âwell it made me sick. I donât think I should have to pay for itâ The guy literally accused him of lying. Saying âanyone could just go throw salad in the toiletâ what the hell. Who says that. When the waitress came with the check he saidâ Iâm sorry I got sickâ. He wasnât being smart or anything. He legit felt bad about it. She was rude and said â I donât know why youâre saying that to me. Iâm a different person. I had nothing to do with that conversation.â It was seriously so rude and uncalled for. They did take off the salad. We paid, left no tip and left. Iâm so sorry that my sons first outing in all these months was this! Needless to say I will not be back again. Not sure what happened but this place used to be a...
Read moreCalamity Jaeâs has been my home away from home since I moved into the neighborhood 4 years ago. I love the breakfast there and stop by at least a couple weekends a month to snag their corn beef hash or Calamity Jaeâs omelet.
Good breakfast only gets you so far as a business though and the experience wouldnât be the same without my favorite bartenders in town. My main man Tony always makes sure that I never wait to get my drink or food order in and always is great company when I catch him on Thursdays and Fridays. Janine and Mo are always there on the weekends to greet me with open arms and hilarious jokes. I donât see my buddies Tim and Roger much anymore, because I mainly stop by during the day, but the place wouldnât be the same with out them. Rhonda, the matriarch of the bar, always has great stories and Iâm always happy to catch her running the show.
Come for the food, stay for the hospitality should be...
Read moreI have patron this place since 2004 i remember. Nice local place. Clean and friendly. Yesterday, November 13th came back. Things stared out with a flat stale blue moon. We ordered chowder none left at 6pm. We saw the special on the board rotisserie chicken for $16.99 half a chicken sounds okay. We usually order chicken wings always hot and crispy. Waitress said 16 minutes plus wait which was okay. We order a salad ahead. When the chicken came out I look at it and said it was fried Chicken. She said oh no, it was pressure cooked and done a special way.
Ahhh told the waitress rotisserie is sort of like Costco rotisserie chicken special. It's rotisserie cook. What we looking at is more like flour batter fried chicken. We let it slide. But it's not right if I wanted such I would go to Popeyes and get a whole box family dinner. Not half a chicken...
