Hometown Pizza Pdx — Restaurant in Portland

I'm in my mid 30's. My dad used to own a business a couple buildings next to this shop. When I was a kid we would go to the park and always walk by this place, and I remember the distinct smell of pizza every time we walked by. We would always ask if we could get some, and when we did it was great. I was in the area recently and stopped in just to see if I could get that child hood memory back by smelling that familiar smell again. As soon as I walked in it hit me all over again. Child hood rushed back into my head, such a great feeling. It may not be the exact same owners as when i was a kid, but it still had the same look, same feel, same smell, and good overall pizza. I just wish "his bakery" down the street was still open. Hope this place never closes as I will stop by...

The staff (and owner?) were very friendly. We ordered the Hometown Special, w/out pineapple, and the Veggie. We were told they'd be ready in about twenty minutes and they were. Both pizza were great. They also cut the pizzas in smaller slices than is normal, these days, but are the size I remember when getting pizza growing up. The Mt. Scott area has many great pizza places, but this is our new favorite.

Also, we asked about wings when we made our pizza order. When we picked up our pizza they showed us a batch of wings they were tossing with sauce in a big bowl. They looked really good. We'll probably order...

New owners and a little remodeling done. They can now take plastic and cash as well. Limited menu and not much online presence however you cant get much local than this family ran pizza joint. Have ordered just this month and it was great. I was heartbroken when it looked like they were closing!

I love this pizza. Deck ovens make the crust so crispy. The pizza can be hit or miss with quality of toppings, however there are plenty of toppings. It's cheap and it's locally owned. I usually get Canadian bacon, pineapple, mushrooms, olives, and crispy bacon! I would say that it gets a 8 out of 10 for overall...
