So I guess this is the place that replaced Cannons Ribs Express which was one of the best BBQ places in Portland JJ's has a lot of similar taste when it comes to the meat and BBQ sauce compared to the original owners recipe if not the same which is by far still perfect!! but I do have to say my friend(a certified chef)who ordered the chicken said it was dry and over cooked the Mac and cheese was also dry and the potato salad wasn't my favorite i also realized they did don't change gloves as they transfer from payment to food prep which isn't to sanitary I'll definitely will come back and hopefully I can update this review to 5 stars because it has potential F.Y.I you might have to remind them about the BBQ sauce it comes on the side-mild or hot.

My husband and I stopped at this food truck pod for a bite to eat after a long day. It was cold out and let me tell you, the warm food hit the spot. The ribs were huge and I got five with my order. They don’t skimp on portions! The plates also come with a sizeable cornbread muffin (or roll if you prefer). All this for only ~$15/person. What I really want to comment on is the customer service, which was top notch—the man running the truck was SO nice! He offered to buy a hot link and drinks for my husband and I. We had to insist on tipping. Please stop buy and grab some delicious food. Support local businesses!

I've had a lot of good barbecue in my day but JJs is the best around. The chicken is to die for soft and juicy tender with a smoky barbecue flavor that does not disappoint. The hot links are also popping and Im always a sucker for the cornbread and Mac n Cheese! It's worth every penny and the staff are super friendly always serves with a smile. The food court park itself is a great place to eat and this barbecue cart is no exception, but their food... exceptional for sure!

Ugh, so I just got back from JJ's BBQ, and honestly, it was a pretty disappointing experience. I was really craving some good barbecue, but what I got was anything but. The meat itself just didn't have much flavor, and it felt like they were trying to compensate by drowning everything in sauce. It was so overpowering that it completely masked whatever subtle flavors might have been there. And the macaroni and cheese? Oh man, it was so dry! It tasted like it had been sitting out for a while, and there was absolutely no cheesy flavor to speak of. It was just... bland. To make matters worse, they were completely out of greens, which was one of the sides I was really looking forward to. It turned out they were actually low on a lot of their sides, which was surprising considering it was only around noon. To top it all off, the bill came out to well over $30, which felt absolutely outrageous for the quality of food and the limited options we had. I definitely won't be rushing back to JJ's BBQ anytime soon. It's a shame, because I was really hoping for a great...

Hallelujah now this some BBQ! can’t stop telling anyone who’ll listen, how amazing this place is!!! These two made my laundromat afternoon an absolute pleasure! they were so friendly even though i didn’t have much to spend!

everything was a lil piece of true Louisiana! their hospitality, the pulled pork (they have obviously been grown up with the southern secrets to true bar-b-coa!) the mac an cheese was perfection! oh and the spicy bbq sauce (not to worry a more typical portland pallet will indulge in it’s well balanced, robust and flavorful tang, not a heat type spice)!!! the mac, pulled pork, and sauce together was the perfect fuel for my laundromat endeavors, hopin y’all do add this combo as menu option, out of this world gooood!

don’t usually do piedmont carts (too spendy), so glad the place next to them “was out of food” for me but not the guys behind me ¯(ツ)/¯

can’t wait to try all of JJ’s bbq and sides! i will definitely be back and sending everyone i know for a peace of the real heart...

We just happened upon these food carts and are so glad we did. I have never seen a place like this with all the unique decorations and old town/mariner/Sasquach vibe. We all chose JJ’s bbq. We each had the one meat dinner with brisket and 2 sides. Between us we had the Mac n cheese, potato salad, collard greens, and baked beans. We loved the brisket. It was tender and had a flavorful sauce. I adored the greens! The potato salad was pretty good, the beans were fine, the corn bread was sweet, but I really loved the Mac n cheese. I know a lot of people didn’t love it, but I am glad it isn’t a rich and creamy Mac n cheese. I think it would have been too rich with the meat. It is a drier version with a light sauce and elbow noodles, but has flavor. I could have eaten a whole other side of it. I thought it off set the meat and greens perfectly. The guys were also super friendly and gave my son a free apple juice. The price for everything you get was more than reasonable. We would...
