ABSOLUTE FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!!!! Online prices has been the same price for many years and still has not yet been updated. When calling in your order they will quote you $3.00-$5.00 dollars difference. These people continue to say we just changed the menu a week or two ago or our tech people have not updated the new prices! BUNCH OF BULL S*! They continue to tell people who call in their order false prices and majority of them don't even realize it! They will raise their prices over the phone as if they were apart of UBER Eats delivery or in-house deliver! They don't deliver so they add hidden additional fees to your order and try to come up with an excuse of why your total is more than what you've ordered! After confronting the register employee about the difference of the online and in-house prices, the agent (rude guy) continued to ignore my concerns and said quote on quote " Most of our REGULAR customers know our prices and we know the prices online are wrong but I "assumed" you were just a regular customer so that is why I didn't mention anything about the price difference!" Little do this guy know, I have been a customer for more than 14 years with this specific restaurant called Kung Food and have gone through multiple different owners...at least 3 that I remember. I am very disappointed how this employee continued to mock me and disregard a long time customers concern and would not consider looking further into my complaint nor compensate in any way. I am not asking for anything free. However it would of been appreciated if the restaurant owner & staff members took into consideration of the frustrations and concerns of someone who has been a loyal customer for more than 15yrs or so!!!!!!!!!
I've given them more than 3 tries to do the right thing but obviously they are only here to take peoples money and to make sure they take advantage of them for every little penny they have in their pocket!!

Read moreThat is not a place you go to have a meal.
They PERFUME the dining area(like, someone hosed the room down with cologne, and not like from a person, but direct from the bottle), and the lotto area is super loud, as in the machines are constantly blaring, so everyone is shouting over them. They told me it would be ready in 20 minutes and it was ready in 45, which in itself is nothing until you consider the food.
The food itself was depressing: broccoli beef tasted like old cooking oil, dumplings were watery and falling apart, the white rice was yellowing and crusty, having clearly been sitting in the cooker far too long to still be palatable, and the teriyaki chicken was rubber. This was like a textbook example of how NOT to do this, and I paid way too much money for the experience. This review basically gets a second star because the host didn't do anything egregious like spit into my open mouth.
I seriously should have brought it back the second I opened that rice; that was the rice of a restaurant that has given up on life. That rice was MOURNFUL.
I almost forgot: whatever they do to their hot and sour soup? Absolutely not. It tastes like the inside of a can, and I don't think they actually use anything canned in that soup.
I keep coming back to this. I think the reason is that I've lived here since 2001, and I can probably count on one hand the number of truly foul meals I've paid money for, and this one was...
Read moreI don't make a habit of leaving public reviews, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share my opinion about Kung food. If I were just basing my rating on the quality of the food, the tenderness of the meat, the richness of the spices, and the overall deliciousness of the food, I would give this place 10 Stars. The fact that they are just a few minutes from my house in our sweet little locale of St John's might even up my rating to a 12. The only reason I took off one star out of my rating is because after ordering on Postmates, they estimated that my food would be ready in 20 minutes, but it wasn't ready for another 50 minutes after that. I don't mind having to wait a long time for a good food, but being told every 15 minutes that they need another 15 minutes kept me from being able to return home or just stay at home until it was ready. I know things are crazy with covid right now and it must be hard to find good help to cook quality Chinese food like they do, so i understand the challenge. It would just be helpful if they were more accurate with how long it might take, even perhaps over estimating or instilling a system where they call you when it's ready.
I'll be back because the food is amazing though and I'm sure they'll figure out the...
