Came based on others high ratings and it did not disappoint. Got the chicken rice hainan style and boat noodle soup with beef. The rice was flavorful, reminds me of my mom's and it was definitely bringing childhood memory for me. The chicken was tender and flavorful, loved the fact that it came with some cut up thai chilis and cilantro. The boat noodle soup with beef was amazingly well seasoned. The broth was so rich and not just beef flavor, but other seasoning in it that made it extra wow. The beef was super tender, came with fried pork skin which we love. Also ordered the combo chicken rice with 3 chicken and 2 rice to go. Excited to try tomorrow! Amazing amazing amazing! I'm guessing it's family run so they don't have a lot of waiter/waitress. There was only 1 guy that took our order, clean tables, clean dishes, ring up your order. He did everything except the kitchen cooking part and we did not mind the waiting. It was a great experience. Definitely will want to come back if we're in the area!

Update: As I mentioned, I had ordered the chicken rice combo to go with 3 different chicken and 2 rice. Unfortunately, I should've checked my order before leaving the premise. There was no rice, which is what I was looking forward to. The chicken was nice and it came with 2 small containers of soup but I wanted to try the rice. So when ordering to go, make sure you check that you get everything. I understand the guy could have been overwhelmed with everything that he had to do, so it was just very unfortunate so I had to...

In order to escape the incessant winter rain of the Portland area, my friend and I popped into La Moon. We were seated at a view table, where the view consisted of the steady stream of cars whizzing by on Powell, or the storage center across the street, or a medium sized cellphone tower. I'm sure that the owners spent at least as much on decorations as a party of four would spend on lunch. We ordered from the rather limited menu and after a while the food arrived. My order was Yellow Curry with Tofu. It was definitely Yellow and had crunchy Tofu. It also had a few chunks of potato. The spice level was nice, but the Curry flavor was overwhelming. I couldn't finish mine. My friend got Yellow Curry with chicken. He felt much the same about his. He also got an order of Crispy Chicken which he didn't like . We left a lot of food on the table and decided to not return. We were the only people there for lunch,...

Overall enjoyed our visit over to La Moon. This place may seem a little unassuming tucked off the road of a pretty busy street in SE but they are cooking up some delicious food.

Went in on a Thursday evening and it wasn’t too busy. The restaurant isn’t huge but could comfortably seat around 5-8 parties. The service was fine but it’s sort of an order at your table and pay on way out type of deal.

The menu is pretty vast from more classic Thai dishes to some of the more speciality chicken options they have. I went with the Gai Tod chicken and rice which was definitely tasty. To everyone else’s point the rice is quite delicious and packed with a ton of flavor. The chicken was tasty just wish it maybe had a little more sauce to go with. All in all a good dish, just might have tried something else for next time.

Definitely a cool spot to checkout if you’re in the area with some...

A new cute Thai street food place on Powell. The food was solid. The garlic chicken was excellent and probably some of the best we’ve had. Yum yum, more please. The Pad See Ew was good. It didn’t blow us away but we definitely ate it all. The ā€œspring rollsā€ were fried… what we would typically call egg rolls. Tasty nonetheless but also not what we expect when we order spring rolls. Ate them all anyways though, no complaints! The Thai Teas were great but we both thought they were pretty sweet. The atmosphere is surprisingly inviting and cozy. Not the biggest fan of the loud YouTube music autoplay with the big TV playing it. Buckle up and check out the bathroom. Someone’s special interest is on display. The service was perfect for the spot. Efficient and polite. Pricing was fair. We will be back :)
