Flavor explosion - Blew my mind!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOAHS HALAL SHAWARMA!!!! SATIATING YOUR TASTE BUDS IN A WAY YOU DIDN'T KNOW YOU NEEDED.
This is the most delicious and legit Kebab Wrap I have had in the United States!!
The kebab is cooked and seasoned perfectly, it's tender and fresh. The lavash is warm and soft, expertly toasted on the grill. And then the sauce and pickles push it over the top for a solid 10/10!!
These wraps are large! But SO GOOD, you'll be totally full and considering a second one for indulgence! (I took one for the road!)
They have about 5 different wrap combinations. Lamb, chicken, kebab, lamb and chicken, and I believe beef but don't quote me.
THEN they ALSO have: 🔥 Gyros 🔥 Salads with a topping of Lamb, Chicken, or Beef.
Are you a vegetarian? My condolences... BUT!!! They have falafel, hummus, babaganoush, salad, etc.
The gentleman running the show is not only a great cook but very friendly, attentive to his guests, and made for a very welcome and pleasant experience!
CASH is preferred, but they have Square and take Cards of course.
It's located next to John's Marketplace with an assortment of other food carts/trailers with a permanent outdoor seating area including some large picnic style tables, tables with chairs, bar top type tables, and it's a covered permanent awning, so no rain woes.
While you are having a unicorn of a kebab wrap, there's a shop just to the right that has beer on tap, and an assortment of other vendors so you're good even if the person with you doesn't feel like having an amazing shawarma experience!! No worries, you can't save everones.
I fell in love with Kebab wraps while I was travelling in Amsterdam 10 years ago... I have tried dozens and dozens of kebab wraps in the U.S. since then and found some good ones, but none compared. UNTIL, I found NOAHS HALAL SHAWARMA! This is the hookup for amazing gyros...
Read moreNoah halal is one of the better gyro stands in the area. The quality of the meats, sauces, and hummus are significantly better than the local competition. The prices are high but better than some of the lesser quality halal carts in Portland. The service is good and the staff is pretty attentive. Try and bring cash as they appreciate it. The food court leaves something to be desired. Lots of seating but the area is usually left pretty dirty and there isn’t significant covering for wet weather. The heater isn’t very strong and only stretched down one line of tables. You are allowed to eat inside of John’s market which is next door but it’s a bar for the most part so it isn’t the most kid friendly place. I consider this a takeout spot. My favorite items are the falafel plate and the beef arabi. They also have some smaller plates like chicken over hummus that comes with pita. This is nice for the kids or if I need a smaller plate to share that doesn’t...
Read moreI'm a fan or both the Kosher and Halal designations, with an admittedly sketchy understanding of all the details, but a belief that an additional level of supervision in food processing gives consumers a less Upton Sinclair-ish source of sustenance. I was excited at the number of menu options I found at Noah Halal, and surprised myself by trying something that was outside my list of typical choices. I went with a Kabab Gyro, yes to tzatziki, and no to the hot sauce. I loved it. The tzatziki, along with bits of olive and a slice of pickle provided great counterpoint in temperature, texture, and chewiness to the meat. The symbiotic relationship of this cart pod with John's Marketplace means that a meal here can benefit from an extremely well curated beer selection. Having a beer with lunch on a weekday is an unexpected benefit of being retired. Noah Halal is a solid choice at a cart pod full of...
