We found this little place on the way to the airport this morning. I suggested to Jenn that we try someplace new and she picked Proud Mary Coffee. Here is what we had and how we liked it:
Drinks:
Yellow Catuai - Sitio Triunfo - This is a Pour over that had incredible hints of Chocolate, floral, mandarin and raspberry. It was a very pleasant cup of coffee. It was super interesting that they brought you the grounds before they made it for you to smell. I am not sure if it added anything to the drink but it was a cool little thing they did. I would give this a 4/5 stars.
Rhubarb Spritz - Vodka, Rhubarb, Lemongrass, & Ginger Tea - This was pleasantly refreshing. Jenn said it was a tad stronger than she liked but it was good. 3/5 stars
Berry & White Chocolate Muffin - Holy moly this was amazing. We shared this while waiting for our main dish. It was light and delicious. I dont give 5 stars often but holy heck it was good 5/5 stars.
Asparagus Crumpet - Charred asparagus, crumpet, almond cream, pecorino, cured egg yolk, garlic chips, two poached eggs. This was Jenn's dish. She really liked it. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked, the asparagus was charred but not overly with a nice amount of pecorino melted on top. Over all she said it was a 5/5 star.
Korean Fried Chicken Sando - Fried chicken, red cabbage & daikon kimchi slaw, gochujang sauce. served with pommes dauphines. This was a super tasty sandwich. The friend chicken was cooked incredibly well. It had big bold flavor from the gochujang. I wasn't a super fan of the pommes dauphines. They were fine but lacked a little bit on the flavor. Overall the dish was presented well and tasty. 4/5 stars.
But... what stole the show was their house made hot sauce. I am not tottally sure what was in it but my guess is, Jalapeno, Tomatillo, Cilantro, Olive Oil Garlic and a pinch of salt. This was incredible.
last but not least the server was amazing. She was on point and gave us a, Hell Yeah" every time she confirmed our request.
This is a must try.
