I visited Salvador Molly's for I believe the third time, for Portland Mercury's Wing Week 2021, to try their Crispy Orange Wings, which feature a medium-spicy glaze of habaneros, orange juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and chili sauce. Also, they are served with a side of aioli. I would actually describe the glazed wings as medium-to-very-spicy, but calmed down a bit to, say, a solid medium-spicy, when dipped in the aioli. A lingering heat, but a fun and bougie combination of creaminess and glaze that I genuinely wish I had tried, earlier in the week, as I think this is a fun one, and want more people to try them. At risk of sounding like a broken record, similar to another one of my most recent Wing Week reviews, this is definitely one of the more interesting habanero glazes (which are roughly a third of the participants). For my personal taste, after having tried ALL 24 participants, this week, I would rank these fifth best, overall. If you happened to try and enjoy West Coast Grocery's, and enjoy a bit of spice, you will most likely really like these. Service was good, and they have indoor and outdoor seating, with umbrellas for the outside. Miscellaneous thought: I don't know if it was just my imagination, (my brain may be fried from consuming, at-that-time-120 chicken wings in 4.5 days) but the soap in the bathroom smelled a tiny bit like rum, or something that I somehow associate with rum. If that is genuinely the case, and is an intentional design choice, I think it's clever and fun. We ordered the Shanghai Cowboy Rolls and one Great Balls of Fire. The rolls are excellent! Definitely a worthy appetizer to try. The Great Balls of Fire live up to their name, but I feel fairly confident to be able to eat all 5 and earn my picture on the Hall of Flame. The real winner of the day belongs to the Drum Pan Jerk BBQ. What a powerhouse of delicious flavors. And normally I'll pass on plantains, but I was shocked at how much I enjoyed these. We also ordered the Baja Saba Fish Tacos, however, we felt that it was just lacking that extra kick to make it a memorable dish. It's not that it's bad, but there just wasn't anything really that screamed, "come back and order this again", the way that Drum Pan Jerk did (I will be back for that!) Finally we washed it all down with a Painkiller, which was delicious and went well with the Tiki Bar theme. Overall, this place is worthy of multiple visits and can't wait to continue to explore more of their menu. And get my picture on their wall. Challenge accepted

I have been getting the Yucatan Chicken Tamales for months at the PSU Farmers Market. I finally decided to go to the restaurant. I ordered the tamales which were delicious as usual; Cheesy Poofs which were delicious molten cheese fritters; Cowboy Rolls that seemed to be a Southwestern American version of an egg roll; Garlic Lime Chicken soup which had shredded chicken, tomatillos, onions and lots of lime flavor. I also ordered a Tiki Fishbowl which was a very fruity punch that was very strong. It had enough alcohol for two to get a buzz going. It was pretty busy so we were seated in the bar area in a booth. The server only came by 3 times but it was fine since they leave you a pitcher of water for the table. The menu has a lot of interesting options for everyone. Even vegetarian and vegan, if you're into that sort of thing. I would definitely recommend this place.

Sigh. Not gonna lie, as it pains me to say, this will be my last visit here. What used to be an underrated hidden gem for me and my friends to enjoy, turned to an overall bad experience, overpriced, and tasteless.

If you don't want to read the rest, all I gotta say before you go inside: First of all, bring a sweater if you decide to come inside. Don't order the mojarita. Don't order from the happy hour menu. Tiny, tiny, tiny portions from happy hour menu. And enjoy.

Yesterday, I had high hopes in treating my gf to a place I had long enjoyed. Thinking it will taste just the same..

We had ordered the volcano sandwich and burrito. With the cowboy rolls from the happy hour menu (which btw, is actually just one vinegary egg roll cut in half on top of some cabbage).

Cold, dry, and simply just out of wack. I wish I had taken a picture. My sandwich was on a single loaf of french bread on top of curly fries. All you taste is bread and bbq. Again, COLD

My gf did not even bother finishing her burrito, at this point I don't even care what it's called. Guacamole is definitely NOT guacamole. All you taste is the cream they add on and the rice inside the burrito. Oh and some cabbage and tomato on the side.

If I had one thing to say to the cook that night and I wish I had said this: What happened? Honestly, what happened? Did you give up halfway, like I'm actually asking.

Service was ok Goodbye,...

Barmaid not helpful at all, asked for a pitcher of water (we were all empty 4 of us while waiting a long time for our food) she said she would bring it to the table, she never did. A bus person finally did like 10 minutes later, waiter was very busy, to busy to help us with water. Food was a little spendy for the portions food was okay but I was expecting a little better I had the Kalua pork burrito it could have been a little more Hawaiian maybe some fruit in the tiny amount of salsa and a little more flavor. A $12 burrito should be wonderful. The rib plate is pretty small also for the price. Everyone in our party said the food was okay, the waiter was cheerful but way to busy, none of us were impressed enough to want to come back. If you read the other lower scores, they hit the mark. We felt the same way. Maybe it's a weekday thing. Some people like it. Also it's not the cleanest place, our table was sticky bathroom needed cleaned, lots of stuff stored in the hallway to the bathroom. They could use a sign that says wait to be seated or seat yourself I felt like I was in the way when I came...
