It is what it is. Nice authentic recipes and a good Modelo Negra. The language barrier was my biggest issue. Steak Huarche is one of my faves. Just be warned that the soft bread of the normal recipe will be substituted with a prickly pear cactus palm. It was delicious but since I don’t speak Spanish very well, I didn’t understand that the bread was to be replaced with the aloe like succulent. Once again, my fault for not understanding spoken Spanish and not realizing that the photo was there to show what the bread was to be replaced with. But then again maybe they had bread but since I mentioned the cacti, then she assumed I wanted it. Would go back again as it was better than the first time but the location just seems strange. Part of the property is a convenience store/sandwich shop, the parking lot has a coffee cart. It’s right next to a feed and seed store and a strip club. Very Portland scene but I enjoy being an atypical customer at joints like this. Thanks friends.

The food is ok, we ordered two dishes. Green chilaquiles, a pastor taco, and a breakfast plate with eggs and sausage. Do not expect anything extraordinary because it will not happen. The taste is just ok, the portion is alright, I was not amazed at all. I am not sure sure I will come back again. For a quick bite is not bad, for a repeated visit? Not for me. One thing though: The small soda was $2.99 with unlimited refills, this for me is a must. The place is clean and has a tiny salsa bar. Restrooms were gross.

This is a great neighborhood spot, with fast service and tasty food. Areas they could improve in would be to mark menu items as gluten free if possible, and to make a better menu design instead of the current one which feels redundant and visually overwhelming. More fresh items instead of the heavily processed bean mixes would be a welcome addition. The new booths make the space more visually appealing. Overall for everyday needs, this place more than meets the need but still has room to grow.

I admit it seemed sketchy on the outside before entering and is not in a prime location. Once inside however it appeared quite clean for a Mexican restaurant. Tables were very clean and not sticky. Floors not so much but I don't eat off of the floor. The tv was playing telemundo soap opera. No other customers other than a couple Mexican families which is a good sign. The walk up counter had a menu with photos of many options. Once I ordered food was delivered quickly, typical of food warmer tray type food. I ordered a ground beef taco that was very tasty. The meat was seasoned with a somewhat spicy flavoring. I topped it with avocado salsa. Love the salsa. I also had nachos that basically was the same as the taco but with chips instead of a shell. The chips were not very fresh. Is there a good Mexican restaurant this area of Portland? Do any of them make fresh chips. I doubt it. Overall at the reasonable price I would lunch here again, but the atmosphere is to lame for me to take my...

Great food Authenticc!! Very good. High quality food. I can’t say I’ve paid as much for small portions. ITS PRICEY!! I know the cost of rent is high but the cost of the food for prep’ing this food sure as heck isn’t. I’m not sure why the costs are so high. And it’s very difficult to find anything cheap enough to just get a small bite or even just a snack. Which is always a good method when it comes to Mexican food. Perhaps add plata’s to the menu might keep the cost down and add a section for small bites. Also a specials menu. This isn’t (at least when I went in) a dining restaurant but it’s charged like it is. Fast food order at the counter shouldn’t be priced this way. Also the menu is long and confusing to read on a wall. Hire servers and YOU GOT A DEAL!!

2👍🏽’s outta 3 👍🏽’s if just because the food was good. Anything else was kinda a big ask!! Where’s my...
