After being a ongoing customer for months now I no longer will support a business that is not willing to stay open till the time advertised on google. Update your hours so people can actually enjoy this place. Closing 30mins early or sometimes even an hour is unprofessional.as well as shutting down the coffee machine an hour early is ridiculous. If stated closing at 2pm it should be that. I understand closing maybe 10 mins early but it’s unprofessional to close at random times on the daily. Went in the other day and they were closing at 1:45pm I go in today before 1:45 and they employee said “well today we are closing at 1:30pm” with the smartest attitude. Get a different job if you don’t want to work. I’m tired of these breakfast places that want tips but do the least. There’s only one employee there that has excellent service and she’s the only one I ever tip when I go in. Unfortunately by the way they run this business I will no longer be back in.

I would like to add more information about the bad experiences that I’ve had here.

The ginger, was rushing us to pay and when we did pay she kept $2 never returned my change until I had to ask for it. Assuming you’re deserving of a tip is crazy. Especially after rushing us out.

Crazy brows, idk her name but she didn’t want to seat us in a comfortable spot. A small table for a couple with a man as big as mine is uncomfortable and not realistic. We asked her to move us and she refused to and then Tori (the only employee that has extremely good service) came to save us and sat us comfortably at a good size table for us both without a problem. If it bothers you so much to clean tables then get another job.

Tori is truly saving this business any of the other employees have gave me and my partner a hard time while trying to dine in. I tip Tori all the time she’s always very welcoming and kind and willing to take care of the customers. If you do end up going to this business please tip TORI!

Update: don’t leave honest reviews or you’ll get banned from this place hahahaha. Refused service in attempt to give this place...

During our recent visit to Portland from Texas, my family and I were excited to try out the much-talked-about diner, "The Daily Feast." We had heard great things about its delicious food and charming ambiance, and we were looking forward to experiencing it firsthand. However, our experience at this establishment left us feeling deeply disappointed and uncomfortable. As we entered the diner, we were promptly seated at a table near the entrance. Unfortunately, our anticipation quickly turned when we overheard a conversation between the host Em and another employee. Their discussion revolved around working on the weekends, but it took an unpleasant turn when Em made a disturbing comment. She explicitly stated that she purposefully made people of color wait longer because she believed they would tip less. Shockingly, both Em & Alana, who we then found out is the manager, found this remark amusing, resulting in giggles. The moment those words reached our ears, our entire family felt a wave of discomfort wash over us. It was disheartening to witness such blatant racism and discriminatory behavior, especially in a place that prided itself on serving the community. With heavy hearts, we collectively decided that we could not support a business that allowed and seemingly condoned such behavior. As visitors from a different state, we had hoped to encounter a more inclusive and welcoming environment in the liberal city of Portland. We promptly got up from our seats, leaving behind the menus and the...

Food fantastic service awesome apparent local distaste for visitors felt palpable. Looking for breakfast near hotel to send off family on flights find our way to this gem. Chaos initially since quiet busy. Sister in law saw two tables outside on sidewalk after initially getting on waiting list and asked if it worked somewhat like a bar first come first serve .. told yes but have to order from counter she did so and was given a number to put on table. Still somewhat cramped for our party of 7 and one child. While I was returning menus and I guess eyeing another table I was asked do you know how to get a table or perhaps that was the clueless intent I fabricated I went into helpful mode and said well we just grabbed a couple and ordered inside. This fellow proceeded to explain that is not how it works you need think of people other than your self when you people do this and order "13 things" it slows it up for everyone even more. Very much embarrassed by this young man for the act of my sister in law to get us served, sanctioned by the establishment, I related nothing I could do at this point seems that satisfied his need to say something with a broad grin. Having the customers enforce one set of rules and the business support another is frustrating and sincerely makes this a dangerous place... signs are abundant in Portland a few to the hapless travelers who might frequent the "local place for local people"... great food and service but seriously steer clear of this place if your...

The good: Service and atmosphere were great! They nailed the hash browns being nicely crispy, and the corned beef was perfect. The bad : The food lacked care. The biscuits were literal hockey pucks that they said they make themselves, and they were very bland, a little salty if anything. The gravy was shockingly devoid of flavor, even the sausage was flat, completely lacking any savory notes, it was inedible and I actually had to send it back- which I have almost never done. The corned beef was a miss with the horse radish sauce they should keep on the side. They put it all over it and took away from an opportunity to let us decide how to apply a pretty universally controversial condiment. I ended up getting the veggie breakfast burrito after sending the biscuits and gravy back. The I added chorizo, which I really couldn't taste but added 5.00 to the cost. The biggest issue was that there was no contrast in texture, they used limp hash brown potatoes, eggs, beans, I thought maybe the chorizo would be crisp. But the thing was a soft mush vehicle... Red cabbage, white onion, or crispy red breakfast potatoes would have done wonderfully. One other quirk about the place was the bathroom is in the basement, not convenient, and only one toilet, not a huge deal but worth mentioning. I wouldn't come back unless they took more care in their food based on the above.

The Daily Feast was the first restaurant I visited in Portland, Oregon; not to mention the first I ever tried in the West coast. This was a good start to the vacation I would spend in The Beaver State. My friend and I were greeted kindly by a staff member, who seated us by the window, as the place was already packed in the early morning. The wooden table used to eat was clearly used over time, with cup marks stained all over. But, my attention was more on the view outside; though cold and rainy, I was just pleased to have completed my bucket list to visit Portland. I ordered the corn beef hash with a side of scrambled eggs and sourdough toast & jam, along with their "Feel Better" tea to help with my jet lag. I was nervous to try the hash, as I had never tried it before, but I figured I was in a new town and I needed to be adventurous. It definitely paid off, as the hash was crispy and flavorful. Just large enough for a small eater like me to consume. The eggs were also good, and the toast & jam was a delicious combo as well. The staff was super kind, and I can see why they bring in so many customers. It seems like a small place, but the heart it carries with every meal is what elevates it to popularity. I would come here again.

This place is amazing for breakfast/brunch. Me and my four friends came here for brunch. Food is amazing. I would suggest to take The Full Monty brunch (for fullness), where you get two eggs (any type, i chose scrambled), four small sausages, two bacons and a toast (your choice, I chose sourdough) and a large hash brown. I also had hot choco (with cardamom). This place is amazing so it’s packed. If you are going with 2 or 3 people then you might get a table within 15mins. If you go with a pack of 4 or 5 or more it might take 30mins or more to get a table. Hot choco with cardamom wasn’t good, probably classic is good. The whip cream was very cold which made hot choco warm kind and cardamom ruined the hot choco taste. Brunch is amazing and we loved it. We were 5 and we asked them politely to change a table because we were split into two tables 3 & 2, as there was one more table empty where we 5 could fit in, but they replied us with bit a rude way that they cannot do that. Apart from that, food was amazing and I loved it. We also tried mimosa it was very good.
