I recently visited Director Park and found it to be a great place to relax and take in the sights. While there were plenty of things to see and do, I have to say that the highlight of the park for me was the funny looking concrete sphere near the seating benches. It definitely caught my eye and added a touch of whimsy to the space.
Aside from the concrete hall like sphere, Director Park is also a great spot to enjoy a picnic-like lunch. While you won't be served lunch, there are plenty of tables and benches where you can sit and enjoy a meal that you bring from home or pick up from one of the nearby restaurants. The deli next to the park has clean bathroom, exceptional food, and wonderful service. There’s plenty of seating at park, with benches and some tables. I’d recommend dropping by here if you are downtown but not worth the drive, if you aren’t already in the area. Shopping nearby at Nordstrom’s, Target, & TJ Max is a plus. (The only reason it’s not 5 stars is no public bathrooms, there are some homeless people (friendly) loitering around, not fenced-in for safety, and no coffee...

Perhaps a couple decorative Japanese Maple trees. The prevailing thought has seemed to be that the bio swales will be constantly swampy marshy, that is far from the case. The bio swales in Portland have greatly reduced storm water overflow into the combined sewers, but today, some of them need to be revisited and...
