I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed Ville Velo yet! I love the new cute little bake shop. It feels so cozy and it’s always nice to see Jeff. I got the breakfast sandwich this time with avocado. The biscuit was deliciously buttery and nicely crisped. I’ve also had the biscuits and gravy which is richly delectable and perfectly spicy, MMM! As for the sweets, equally incredibly good. I got a ranger cookie this time. Loved the crunchy caramel oozing around it. Chocolate chips and fruit with the soft oat texture was so good. When I was deciding some regulars came in and I knew I had to try it after I saw how excited they were about it. And had to complete breakfast with a mocha. The chocolate is house made and it shows! The coffee is potent and tasty and the foam was velvety. Here’s another star! āļø

Super friendly bakery filled with a rotating selection of amazing baked goods. Options do go down as the day goes on due to selling out of things, so getting there earlier is recommended. The biscuits are amazing and probably the best I've had. So good in fact, that other cafes also buy them. Go to the source! Just recently sampled the cheesecake brownie which was also gooey and delicious. They also make pop tarts with a ever changing filling, just ask! Parking lot is small so street parking is usually a good option. Prices are pretty reasonable for what you get. If you're craving something sweet, definitely give them a try. It's worth it. Also almost all pictures I attached are partially eaten portions because I lack self control.

VilleVelo is an incredibly cute bakery with a multitude of different pastries and dishes (meals) to choose from. All of the pastries that were on display when I went in the afternoon looks delicious, but I sided to try the biscuits and gravy which was really yummy and incredibly affordable at only $7!! I absolutely adore the look of this bakery and I was greeted with friendly service. I highly recommend a stop here, I'll definitely be back in the future for a coffee and a pastry!

My wife and I stumbled upon VilleVelo Bake Shop on our way to brunch. We popped in for coffee and we’re greeted by Jeff and his amazing team of folks. They were all super friendly and offered us great suggestions for dinner and brunch since we are not from Portland.

Beyond the awesome folks who work here you will find a fabulous selection of delicious baked goods; biscuits, popovers, cookies, sausage roll, mini cakes and on and on. Everything we had was fantastic. The biscuits sandwiches are huge and yummy. The sausage rolls are perfect. The cream filled popovers were heavenly. Basically - you can’t go wrong.

And the coffee is wonderful as well. They make a great cortado - which is my go to drink and my benchmark for great coffee. This is a place I would not miss next time you are in...

I love this place. The biscuits are transcendent - buttery, flakey, and just the right amount of salty. There’s always delightful array of different treats to choose from, alongside the consistent options that include cream-filled pop-overs that combine the best parts of a cream puff with the chewy, doughy goodness of a doughnut. The quiche/tarts are full of yummy ingredients and there’s an excellent balance of omnivore and vegetarian fare. (Not so much for vegans, but that doesn’t apply to this butter enthusiast).

The owner is charming and personable, the shop is full of character, and this place is yet another gem in the crown of what makes Portland wonderful.

(Note - as a baker myself, I’m real snooty about bakeries, and this is one of the few in PDX that I’m excited to return...
