I have no clue why... but this was the worst experience ever. I normally love going to this brand for tea and other drinks (in other locations), but this location just gave me the worst boba experience in anywhere I have been to in the entire world.
This time, We ordered the lychee green tea and taro with fresh milk. The tea was brewed to have very bitter taste, which is super gross. Then the taro was not cooked fully and they just blended it into small pieces so it was pretty much lots of uncooked taro all over the place. Taro is supposed to be soft enough so it can blend well with the milk. Next, the drink itself is like super sweet syrup when I only ordered 30% sweet... like what the heck?! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.
To be honest, I am not sure if this was one of the off days where the workers there just wasn't trained well, or what... but this is seriously super disappointing knowing it is a Yi Fang store. I think even a drink from quickly was better quality than what I got...
Read moreLet me preface this by saying I've had lots of boba in Taiwan (where boba originated), all over LA, Seattle, and Portland. I drink boba at least 3 times a week.
I’ve been to a few different Yifangs in Seattle and now Portland. They’ve all been consistent, especially their fruit teas. My go-to is their signature YiFang Fruit Tea, with boba, 70%. I love that they have real fruits in a lot of their drinks. Their sugar levels are not exaggerated or vise versa, so 70% and 50% sugar do taste like their appropriate sweetness levels.
Boba is always a great texture and sweet enough. They use mini boba, which is a little smaller than at other places.
I got Grapefruit Lemon Tea 70% sweet with boba today. The little grapefruit pulp pieces were so yummy😍
My only complaint is that they took 25 minutes to get my boba. I hope they’ll be able to streamline their process to get orders...
Read moreIn my opinion, compared to all the boba places I've been to, you can definitely tell that this place uses real fruit as you are hit in the back of the throat with every slurp. To me, I don't like the mini toppings. I much prefer the larger tapioca balls and etc. The wait was also quite long. But an employee did come out to let us know an estimated wait time of 15mins after 15 or so minutes of waiting. The waffle, which I got with custard was good, just drier than I expected. The smoothies are watery for asking for less ice. The flavors of pomelo, strawberry and mango was good. Do NOT get the taro. Literally no taro chunks and doesn't even taste like taro. This place was a slight disappointment as it was hyped up for little to show for it. The best drink that seems to be on the menu really is only the mango pomelo, the smoothie is just too watery but the...
