Nice staff and pretty good pizza. Overall better than some not the best. I can recommend them for pizza and spaghetti and meatballs and suggest giving them a try.
I’ve ordered from Ginos about 8-10 times since moving to Portsmouth this summer and have been more satisfied than not. The pizza is pretty solid with great cheese and sauce but the crust lacks flavor, it doesn’t taste like they do a cold ferment on the dough but otherwise it reminds me of my summers in NY with my dad. In fact if the crust had flavor Ginos would have been tied at #1 with Primo pizza for best NYC pizza in Hampton roads. We have also ordered spaghetti and meatballs, tiramisu(pretty good a lil small), and a couple of salads. The spaghetti and meatballs was on point and absolutely delicious. As for the salads our first time ordering the chef salad my girlfriend said it was perfect the second time we ordered it it came with roast beef which it didn’t have the time before and the roast beef was spoiled. This naturally put us off from ordering for a while until today, unfortunately they called to let me know about 40mins after I placed my order on slice they were short and had no delivery driver and I had no way of getting up there no so no pizza to...
Read moreWe visited Gino's when they first opened, and had a decent experience. We realized it had been a while since we tried them again, and as we are major supporters of small/local businesses, we decided to pop in today for lunch. We walked in and sat at a table, and after about a minute, an employee walked out, looked at us, and mumbled something in our general direction. It was a little noisy due to the television and plenty of other tables so we asked what he said. He rudely told us they were not doing dine in and had no room for us. There were multiple tables dining in and the open sign was on at the front. Confused, we got up and left. My husband called to speak to the manager, and was told by the same rude employee that there wasn't one with a laugh. As you can tell by my many Google reviews, I don't give 1 star reviews often. Being turned away rudely for absolutely no reason is no way to run a business. There are plenty of other options for pizza/Italian food in Olde Towne and we will make sure to take our business to them, as well as recommending our friends and family...
Read moreI really enjoy going to small businesses! However, this one was my first time going to Gino’s pizzeria and it was a terrible experience. We had got there around 3:30ish, we just ordered a slice of pizza and garlic knots, an Philly cheese steak and then a calzone to go! I got my food right away and we were waiting on my friend’s slice of pizza& my calzone to go. Almost an hour went by, there was no one in the store, my friend walked to the back and tried to holler for someone and there was so response. We just wanted to get our food to go at this point because I had class later this evening and that’s why we came so early. Still time goes by and no one’s come out. It’s after 5 pm by this point. Someone finally comes out and we asked about our food and the guy said she didn’t order a slice of pizza? When she did… so she didn’t get to eat and we had to leave, and on top of that the food wasn’t good… I would not come here again. It was $41 for food and terrible service that wasn’t worth it in my opinion. Try another...
