Howling Wolf Taqueria — Restaurant in Portsmouth

Never left a review in my life but seeing all these fake 5 star reviews is forcing my hand. Worst food I’ve ever had at a restaurant in my life. Started off with stale chips that we asked to be replaced with fresh chips, and the result was still, stale chips. Next, I ordered 3 tacos that came out cold with shredded cheese on top that was even colder. The first two tacos fell through their tortillas which were so dry they couldn’t hold the contents. Not sure if I’ve ever asked a waiter to take back my food, not my style, but the tacos looked like something that would be served in an elementary school cafeteria on a bad day - so without remorse I asked for them to be taken back and still offered to pay for them because it was my mistake to walk into this restaurant in the first place. I feel bad for the waitstaff because they have to deal with this. Don’t make the same mistake as me. Any review above 1 star is an absolute farce just like Howling Wolf Taqueria. Absolute trash....

Cool atmosphere, cute place and great menu. Drinks looked good and the waitress was nice. That being said the tacos with the mango salsa came out cold as ice. Like the meat was cold. Not like it was warm then sat for a bit but actually cold and hard like it had been out all day. We didn’t eat those because we didn’t wanna risk a belly ache. The taquitos were pretty tasty but everything else we got was just okay. I don’t mind Luke warm meats like the other taco I got but cold room temp meats are a no go for me. Also the corn tortillas were totally raw and cold. Throw them thangs on the grill for a second how they are served traditionally and you will up your taco game...

I was hopeful for this place but I went a few weeks ago and can’t say I’d go back. I’m vegetarian so I tried the veggie enchiladas. They are stuffed with a very odd choice of veggies like carrots, celery, broccoli. The enchilada sauce was pretty much non existent and what little bit was there didn’t have flavor. The rice kinda tasted like microwave bag rice and the beans were so salty I didn’t want to eat them. Rice and beans are like the best and easiest part. Maybe meat eaters will enjoy this place more but it’s a no for me as a vegetarian. I will say I liked the cheese fries but that’s just cheese and fries as...
