The only reason this place gets two stars is the tots were great. The shrimp were overcooked and rubber which is pathetic for a place on the ocean like really you charge me market price for frozen crappie shrimp I could get inland. I am more than willing to pay for fresh but don't put market price on your menu then give me crappie frozen junk. My boyfriends chicken looked like it had been beaten to death and they charged for it to be blackened even though that is literally what they called it on the menu, like he ordered it special or something. Also I order tots as a side rather than the two sides it was suppose to come with and was charged for it, I respect an upcharge for a premium side but didn't receive a second side so I guess I didn't get 1/3 of my meal. Boyfriend got a twice baked potato (as in so overcooked it was dust) overall would never eat here again way better food basically anywhere in the area. With the competition in the area the booze must be the only good thing...

I won't ever be coming back here after being a longtime customer. I was told by a night manager to leave while sitting at the bar not talking or drunk and with a friend. No reason was given why I was asked to leave. I was told by staff it was a misunderstanding and to come back. A month later, same manager told me I could not enter in the early night, was not drunk and well dressed even. No reason was given. Infuriating and disrespectful as I have spent multiple thousands of dollars here over the years on drinks and food and always made an effort to be polite to staff. Another downside, during the summers the rudest tourists end up here. Some positives though, bartenders and wait staff are very professional and polite. Other positive is owner seems nice and tries to keep prices low. Place has possibly best prices in town. But overall doesn't value long time customers and hear other long time customers are getting similar experiences with being asked to leave with no...

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 World-Class Service at State Street Saloon – Thanks to Lauren!

I ordered the baked scallops. I wish I had known they were the little ones I expected nice scallops for $27.00. Instead I got 8 tiny scallops in a dish of butter and crumbs. The scallops were so overcooked they were hard. The baked potato tasted like it had been microwaved and was also hard. Stopped here while walking downtown and wish now I hadn't taken the chance. we sat by the window and we're surrounded by gnats or fruit flies for the entire meal. I will say the drinks were good and the service was decent as well.

So many things I love about this fun, local watering hole. 1) My favorite local band Freight Train plays here. 2) Good food at reasonable prices. 3) Friendly, efficient staff. 4) Decent drink selection. 5) Great people-watching venue. I always feel comfortable when we visit here.

Cheap, filling bar food. Clockwise from bottom: Meat lovers pizza (I did not read the listing fully and was surprised to bite into a hot dog), $10.99; Lobster roll (ordered a small though medium and large are available), $7.99; Loaded baked potato, $3.99
