7/31/24 Honestly, I cannot tell you why it has taken me this long to write this review; I have been relatively busy, and that is the excuse I will use!
On July 21st, 2024, my husband and I found ourselves searching for the perfect lunch spot. Our quest for a unique dining experience led us to Juicy J's Smoked Burgers, a 100% plant-based gem we stumbled upon on Google Maps. The uniqueness of this place lies in its laid-back atmosphere, the variety of plant-based burger options, and the self-service kiosk system. As avid consumers of Impossible meat alternatives, including burgers, we knew this would be a perfect fit.
Juicy J's is small and super laid-back. It's not a bells-and-whistles kind of place. You place your order at the kiosk, and someone brings it to you. It was clean, the staff was not only clean but also incredibly friendly, and the burgers were good! Our visit to Juicy J's took an unexpected turn when a power outage struck just 15 minutes after we placed our order. We lucked out as they were putting the finishing touches on our lunch. Unfortunately, I cant say that for everyone, as several had ordered after us.
Onward to what we ordered. Hubby ordered the Western BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger and fries, and I built a burger.
His burger had light mayo, diced and fried onions, chopped lettuce, house sauce, an in-house smoked and seasoned patty, cheddar cheese, bacon, and garlic BBQ sauce on a sesame seed bun. He said it was a satisfying burger and would definitely return.
Mine could have been more interesting. I ordered my burger with sweet onions, grilled onions (which they forgot), pickles, and pickled jalapenos. I opted to put on ketchup and mustard. I, too, found it to be a tasty burger. We laughed as we couldn't tell the difference between an Impossible burger and a regular beef burger.
Juicy J's offers around twenty burger choices, not including a variety of Burger salads, chili cheese fries, and several side sauces. When looking at their online menu, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they also offer a small selection of dessert items and a wide variety of drink options, catering to all tastes and preferences.
While Juicy J's was a breeze to locate, the same couldn't be said for parking. The challenge of finding a spot added a touch of adventure and slight frustration to our dining experience. So, go in knowing that summer will be the worst time to find parking. Poulsbo is a pretty cute little tourist town; as we all know, summer brings tourists! They're next to Liberty Bay waterfront park, which hosts a vast public parking lot. If you can't find a parking space there, there is street parking on Front Street. All within walking distance is all of downtown Poulsbo. Juicy J's is on the water, although I could see no water from where I was sitting. 8779 Front St NE, Poulsbo, WA 98370
I would recommend this burger place to anyone!
As any small business would agree, it's important to help it thrive. They stimulate the local economy, tend to be charitable, lessen environmental impact, promote community involvement, offer job creation, and provide a variety of unique items and or foods. Most of all, they keep money local!
Also, remember, be kind to ALL living...
Read moreFormer professional chef and restaurant owner and ridiculously picky about my food, especially burgers. Also a rabid meat eater but know just how great a vegan meal can be witj proper care and attention. That being said, this place is legit. The fries are some of the best oven baked fries I have ever had. This is not something many people get right as it's much more difficult and most places pull them out too soon. Not here. You get some semi-burnt edges, but crispy deliciousness as well. The seasoning blend they use is quite good, though I did feel it was a bit heavy handed and would definitely ask for them to go a bit lighter in the future. The burger......oh my Lord....the burger! I choose to try the Firehouse Burger, and all I can say is wow. All the flavors worked wonderfully. The burger sauce was just a bit overpowering, but it did not detract from the blissful experience. I would happily put the burger in my top 10 that I've ever had (meat ones included) and if I lived in town it would be difficult to not come by a few times a month!
All in all, very happy with my experience and wish them...
Read moreWhile in town for work, I looked at local restaurants online. After seeing the reviews and 4.9/5 stars, I decided to try Juicy J’s. As someone who is not vegan, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, especially with everything being plant-based, but I was open to trying something outside of my norm.
I ordered the “bacon cheeseburger” with fries and the strawberry cheesecake for dessert. To be honest, although open-minded, I didn’t hold high expectations as this wouldn’t normally be my choice.
The seasoning on the fries was good, but I was amazed by the taste of the burger. It was extremely good. A nice smoke-flavour, thick patty, and the perfect amount of toppings. If someone were to hand you a burger and not tell you that it’s plant-based, you wouldn’t be able to tell…and this is coming from someone that dislikes seeing that statement because it’s usually not close; however, this couldn’t be better defined other than that statement.
The staff were extremely kind and well-mannered.
I will definitely be back for another burger! I highly recommend this place, even if you aren’t vegan or...
