Los Maya's Prattville — Restaurant in Prattville

I would give this restaurant 0 stars if possible. We use to go to this place all the time during lunch since we only have a hour lunch break and its right down the road. We even supported them during COVID and made sure to always tip well no matter the service. However, last week we went and had to carry our food to go due to it taking almost an entire hour just to get our food ( when we asked the owner about it he stated it was because they had to freshly cook the fajita grilled chicken). He then proceeded to inform us that the shredded chicken and taco beef were prepared and stored in a crock pot to keep warm so items made with these items would be prepared very fast. On todays visit 10/19/2020 3 of us ordered food all off the lunch menu with prepared items. 1 of us received Nacho Supreme (beef), the other got 2 shredded chicken enchiladas, and the last person received a shredded chicken taco x2. When we got there at 12:32 we immediately ordered and was the only new table in there at the time that DID NOT have food. At 1:18 we finally received our food. In the time that we was there two other tables came in a two top table and a party of 6. Both tables received their food before we did! At checkout I mentioned something to the OWNER and he basically told me if I didnt like it to just not come! From previous work experience IT IS NEVER a good thing to disregard your paying customers input or to tell them to not come back. If it wasn't or paying customers the doors would not be able to stay open. Very disappointed in the overall experience! This is the reason why some people do NOT support local businesses. I personally will not be returning nor will any of my co-workers. If you dont have 3 hours to spend, I dont recommend going...

Came in with a large group and was seated right away. The usual chips and salsa was served. The salsa appeared to be just tomatoes blended up. Salt and pepper were added to make it tolerable. I was told by someone in our group who had eaten here before it was better last time. Ok everyone has an off day from time to time. The server came out and took our order. He was prompt but it appeared today was not a good day for him. Again we all have our off days. He was never rude or un attentive at any time. The food came out and everyone in the group found their plates to be as ordered and delicious. With all the choices for Mexican food in town this place is a good choice. I go to Los Mayas to eat fairly often and although I usually buy small meals, they never have a problem bringing chips and salsa to my table. Today I attempted to place a to-go order for cheese dip and a chicken/cheese quesadilla. I was told I would not get the salsa “because you’re only ordering one quesadilla.” When I explained it’s no different than when I come in to eat, she reluctantly said ok I can give you some salsa. So I just cancelled the order. Cheap attitude from the restaurant. Not everyone wants to gorge themselves on $30 worth of food and alcohol every meal.
