I have stayed at the Best Western Prescottonian many times over the years and was interested to see this restaurant take over the long-vacant space. On this occasion, I was with a group of ten - 7 teens and 3 adults. We decided to give Mi Tierra Mexicana a try.
First, we were warmly greeted at 7:20pm, and the staff gladly prepared for us a table for ten without wait or complaints. Our drink orders were quickly taken and served - waters all around, along with chips and salsa. The chips had good flavor, crispness, and thickness. The salsa tasted very fresh and was nicely flavored - just the right amount of heat and lots of other flavors!
I ordered a shredded beef Chimichanga, and my son ordered a burrito entree. The portions were very large, and we didn't leave hungry. Both items were high quality and nicely seasoned. The shredded beef was delicious without adding salsa, and the guacamole was fresh and flavorful. The beans and rice were good, and the portions filled the large plates.
Others in our party tried various dishes, and the taco salad bowl was especially popular. No one had any complaints, and there was a lot of sampling of each other's dishes.
In the end, we had a fantastic time, enjoyed our service and our food, and spent just under $20 per person, including tax and gratuity. I will look forward to returning here on a future trip and will crave the taste in...
Read moreWalked in and the place maybe had 4 tables of people at 130pm. Should of been a sign. 4 of us were seated. Place seemed clean and pleasant. Then the server showed up. She either hated us or was having a really bad day. I'm ok with rbf but when the attitude accentuates it, it's very unpleasant. Her entire demeanor made us feel we didn't belong there. I asked for a couple napkins and was ignored. Finally found them myself. After an extended wait the food came out and was wrong. Then. To no fault of the restaurant, a fire alarm started blaring. Making it impossible to eat. So we couldn't finish drinks or even start on the food. I asked the server to give me the bill for the drinks which I felt I owed. She comes back with a bill over $100. We had previously put a $25 tip down and went outside due to the alarm. I go back in and tell her I'm not paying for food we clearly couldn't eat. I take the $25 off the table and go to pay for for the drinks. Then who I assume to be the manager asked about service, I explained the poor attitude and conduct. Fortunately she voided the tab.
I unfortunately can't review the food, but if it tastes like the server's attitude...
Read moreFirst time visiting, and we will definitely be back. Instead of dinner and a movie, we did a movie then a dinner. The restaurant is very clean and the staff welcomed us upon entry and thanked us as we left. Extensive menu, but we opted for the simple combination menus items, and they did not disappoint. The tri-color chips were fresh and crisp and the accompanied salsa was excellent with just a bit of heat and very good. We both got combos...2 items and three items. One plate with chili relleno and shredded beef tostada. Probably the best relleno in the quad cities. Tostada was loaded and delicious. Other combo was good with yummy cheese enchilada, and a very tender, juicy, seasoned chicken wet burrito, and a shredded beef taco that was tasty and had a perfect crunch, but could have a bit more beef in it. Our waitress was Arankza and she was very polite, attentive, professional and took great care of us. This place is a hidden gem by the Best Western. THANK YOU for crowning a great...
