The menu is excellent, many unique fish offerings that you don’t see everyday at other restaurants. I ordered the mixed grill special— one piece of Alaskan Sablefish and one piece of Arctic Char with wild rice. Both were out of this world: the sablefish was so luscious and buttery, and the char was blackened to absolute perfection. The fish were seasoned elegantly but simple enough to still let the natural flavors of the fish shine. Portion sizes were perfect. Some of the other popular entrees in my group included the Chilean Sea Bass and the Red Snapper. We also had a variety of appetizers which were excellent as well. There are also a few pasta and meat options, but they really excel with the fish. You really can’t go wrong with any of the seafood offerings. Staff were friendly and attentive. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of all the seafood offerings and helped in making some of our selections which was much appreciated. Highly recommend and I can’t wait until our next visit!

I don't entirely get the allure. I first came to Blue Point years ago and loved having a fresh seafood restaurant with simple and tasty preparation. The food is good but there are enough things that leave room for improvement. On this visit, I was seriously disappointed with the smoked tuna pate. You mean tuna salad with some sweet pickles and tortilla chips out of the bag? They shouldn't serve that dish. Service is not really engaged. They take your order but don't really monitor the tables to see if you need something. And the lobster ravioli was beautiful, but overwhelmed with cheese. The clusters of lobster knuckle on top were a highlight. You need to taste the lobster. The dessert stood out and was sinfully delicious. Who doesn't love a chocolate chip cookie dome with a pot of melted chocolate in the middle and a scoop of vanilla? My husband loved his steak and brownie dessert. And the seafood , the reason for coming, could use a bump up.

The staff is the highlight: I had dinner here on a Friday night and my experience was mostly pleasant. Parking was unfortunately rather difficult as I struggled to find street parking. My party of 4 was seated promptly upon arrival and our FANTASTIC waitress immediately opened our BYO bottles (no corking fee). Before I talk about the food, I just need to give a huge shoutout to our waitress (I really wish I hadn’t forgotten her name). She was nothing short of amazing - consistently providing recommendations, giving us feedback, checking in to make sure we had what we needed. She single handedly made our night. What kept this place from getting 5 stars was the combination of difficult parking and some of the food we had. My party had 2 dishes that included shrimp that was just outright too chewy and didn’t taste fresh. Aside from the shrimp, the rest of the food was good and we did walk away from the night satisfied and happy with our experience.

My gf and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. Our server was excellent. He gave his honest opinions as to what to order. He didn't say everything is good or push us to the more expensive option. He was attentive and had a great sense of humor.

I was a little hesitant about choosing this restaurant at first because of some of the negative reviews regarding the creativity of the food and the price point. First, our server explained that the chef doesn't want to overpower the flavor of the fish. He wants it's natural taste and quality to stand on it's own, akin to steakhouse. He was right. Our branzini filet was cooked perfectly. The actual flavor of the fish really stood out. It was delicious. The portion was 7 oz., which is a good sized piece of fish. We also had the crab dip as an appetizer. It was good, but could have used a bit more crab. The side of sweet potato fries we got were abundant, cooked perfectly, and didn't have that heavy fried feeling you can get with fries. We also went with a side of broccoli that was a larger than expected portion that was well seasoned with garlic.

At this point we were quite full, but decided to have dessert on our date night. I went with the chocolate chip bread pudding and my gf got 2 scoops of the vanilla sea salted ice cream. Both were good, but nothing to rave about. The portions were also a bit small, which ended up being good because we were full enough from dinner.

Overall, I would definitely recommend Blue Point to everyone. Great service, delicious food, and if you split dishes it isn't as expensive as it appears. Especially if you bring your own...

I've dined here many times for the past seven years because of my home's proximity. I was here this Friday, May 24, seated at the end of the patio on the 2nd floor. My experience was beyond terrible because of the services, and I won't go back for the following reasons: After I was seated, a female staff member without a uniform came and yelled at me and my dog. She told us I was not allowed to bring a dog, which was "hazardous" loudly. My dog was scared by her. Even though the staff was clear about my online reservation request and indicated, "I have a small dog to take to dinner," she believed that "it was very likely" that I wouldn't bring a dog. Above that, she thought it was unnecessary to call me ahead to avoid the inconvenience. The thing is, I have brought my dog here a few times in the past. The staff here used to be friendly to dogs and humans. The waiter (a tall guy) didn't even pour water or wine for us or introduce anything on the menu. when our oysters arrived, we asked for horseradish from our waiter; he nodded, went away, and returned with nothing. The final straw was when our waiter handed us the wrong bill without our credit card. When we brought this to his attention, his response was dismissive, saying, "It was funny." This lack of professionalism and basic courtesy has left a sour taste in our mouths. No restaurant in Princeton provides unacceptable...

Been here many times. Probably won’t go back. You would expect for $40 or $50 per seafood entree, the seafood entree would be great. Two out of three of our meals were over cooked. The halibut was as dry as the Sahara, not a drop of moistness in the fish. I ordered the special, Shrimp and Scallops with peas over risotto. There were three small shrimp, three small scallops, and five peas, but lots and lots of risotto which was warm on the edges and cold in the middle. I think it had been sitting under heat lamps for a long time while our third dish was being prepared because that one came out hot and perfect. My shrimp was inedible, just too chewy and rubbery. And the service? When I tried to slow our waitress down as she walked by, to ask where our entrees were because we were waiting a long time, she barked at me without breaking stride, “they’re on thier way.” She never slowed down or even looked at the table. So the final bill with tip, and with no alcohol, was $173.00 for a mediocre seafood dinner from allegedly Princeton’s premier seafood restaurant. No thanks, won’t be heading back at those prices, that level of service, and for chewy dry over...
