Please don't judge this place off the to-go experience! Go visit them. FINALLY a nice sit down restaurant in Princeton in addition to our yummy Mexican offerings!! Their in-house menu has pictures and explanations. Our family of 4 went on a Friday night around 7:30. It was PACKED. People were parked in the grass and nearby parking lots. The wait we were quoted was 20 minutes and that turned out very accurate. They said they'd call when our table was ready, which freed us up to walk over to Dollar Tree and do some browsing (hate that so many things there are $5 now). Our food came fast and was very hot and tasty. We had a couple appetizers, 3 sushi rolls, a chicken hibachi, and the kid, of course, had....chicken nuggets (which to our surprise were freshly breaded small chunks of chicken - instead of frozen ground/mystery chicken). The service was exceptional and we never had to flag anyone down, despite it being so busy. Our waitress said she worked mainly at a Denton restaurant that one of the owners also owns. They certainly know what they're doing.
I noticed them reconfiguring the tables a few times and I have to admit the concept is genius. They have little, floor-bases decorative dividers that they place between tables to seat multiple parties. They also remove the dividers to seat a larger party. The dividers look like permanent elements in the restaurant's design until you see them move some.
We will be back for sure! I'm not that adventurous and will stick to my hibachi chicken, but it's nice to treat the hubby to some otherwise "off the list" Asian food. Last thing to mention: they have...
Read moreTokyo House is a new Sushi restaurant in the Princeton area on the 380. My wife and I decided to visit after reading the recommendations from our neighbors on Next door. Glad we did, we have since been here twice now. Though the parking lot is small and appears crowded, we found the restaurant was not. We were seated on both occasions almost as soon as we walked through the front door. The Sushi we ate was fresh and very good (try the Ahi Tower), and there was a minimal wait for it all to arrive at our table. The waitstaff were friendly and courteous, and they took good care of us. The prices seemed fair for what we ordered. The only gripe I have is I can not eat it at one sitting and the lack of Octopus and/or Squid rolls (seriously, ye need more Squid and Octopus. All in all, as long as all of the above remains constant, we will continue to make Tokyo House our go to Sushi place. GREAT JOB!! Update 10/18/2024 - we came here for my sushi breakfast on my birthday. I tried an off the menu item; the Ralph roll (pictured) this was suggested by our waitress. Oh my goodness, if you love spicy, this is the roll for you. Speaking of our waitress, Lexi, you ROCK!!! Thank you again for the birthday dessert. It was yummy!! UPDATE 6/18/2025 - Shout out to Corinne, our server, today, for giving us the history and origin of the Raph Roll. Something she wasn't sure they served when we ordered...
Read moreSo I'm a professional chef. I am very picky about food quality. I didn't order the scallops because on the menu they looked like bay scallops which aren't great. On top of that, the last restaurant I worked at took scallops off the menu due to increased cost - and we served A5 wagyu - so I didn't trust the scallops here.
Having said that, we ordered spring rolls, the "Louisiana roll", the roe nigiri, and the standard tuna and avocado roll. On top of that, my wife ordered the hibachi chicken dinner with onion soup, and my child ordered chicken nuggets and also miso soup.
All the sushi and nigiri came out on the same plate garnished with a beautiful purple flower, which indicates that the kitchen very diligently considered how the guest was going to be consuming the dish and plated it accordingly.
Flavor wise, I really loved the Louisiana roll and the roe nigiri. I thought the tuna and avocado roll needed something more, but it was certainly not bad.
I tasted both the onion soup and the miso soup. Both were very delicious. I think the onion soup is made from scratch in-house, though I think the miso soup might use store bought stocks or soup bases. That being said, I think the miso soup was my favorite.
I highly recommend Tokyo House and I hope you decide to support an excellent...
