Very underwhelming experience. I came here because of recommendations on Reddit for a good sushi spot in Providence. Some comments were saying sushi in Providence is trash, and to head to Cranston. They might have been right I fear.

We were seated quickly. The inside has a nice comforting feel.

It took a while for the server to come to us, but that gave us plenty of time to decide. We ordered the steamed shrimp shumai, sushi regular, and chicken yakisoba. The shumai were a healthy size and were very good. Definitely my favorite part of the meal. The sushi was very basic, honestly I’ve had better sushi at market basket. The yakisoba was fine, but nothing spectacular. We did enjoy the miso soup and salad that came with them, but I have had better for less $.

In addition I felt service was quite slow in getting us our check. Overall save your money. There are definitely better spots not...

I really like Haruki East. I think they have some of, if not the best, sushi in Providence. Their Lunch Specials are a great value and the food is quality and consistent every time.

I specifically want to give kudos to one of the servers. Paige seems to be working almost every time I come in and she does an incredible job! She can handle the whole restaurant by herself at times and her timing is excellent. When I see her I know I can expect quality service.

The reason I am not giving 5 stars is due to a recent change where they no longer show pricing on the drink menu. I know this is a widespread practice in the US, but I personally can't stand it. Haruki used to have a great drink menu that showed the pricing on beer, sake, and cocktails. I don't know why they changed it. Here's to hoping they...

I love the pad thai here, but this place needs to get its Covid process act together. I ordered take out today. Went to pick it up. It wasn't ready. I paid. They told me to wait outside, they would bring my order out to me. After waiting outside for a half hour. I went in to check my order. It was sitting there lukewarm. They tried to charge me again. I told them I had paid and they said they would bring it out to me. I got an insincere sorry from the staff. This place is operating at less than 50% of normal capacity. If you can't keep a handful of to go orders and a handful of patio seating straight, you should probably remain closed or put more staff on. Not pleased with you today.

Pre-pandemic review - Some of the seating is strange. My boyfriend hates it when we go there and he is seated...

Bento boxes for a lunch special are absolutely a must! I introduced my spouse to haruki east recently and he loved it!! You get soup or a salad and we got chicken and the tempura veggies with the dumplings. And you get fresh veggies with it and you can also get a small sushi I believe or the dumplings. We had some beer with it as is our custom! Try the fried ice cream if it's on the menu! Matcha is delicious! Also sushi from haruki is a A MUST. There are many many options to try! Enjoy the smaller haruki in Providence. Cranston is also a must to visit. Both are great!
