Knowing how much we love Japanese cuisine, and especially how talented my wife is at making delicious sushi, our dive buddy invited us to Lim’s Fine Thai & Sushi Restaurant located in Rhode Island. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first, cause who could possibly match (or even come close to) the taste of my wife’s mouthwatering sushi? (Gotta stay politically correct here 😄). But I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised from the very first bite. The chef, clearly a master of his craft, presented a dish that not only looked stunning, but also delivered layers of rich, well-balanced flavor. Every piece of fish was expertly chosen and so fresh, that it practically melted in our mouths. My wife’s favorite was the white tuna, and I have to agree with her, it was absolutely out of this world. We also ordered a dish with eel, and the chef managed to transform the complex flavors of lightly seared fish and tobiko, into a true symphony of taste. And the beer lovers would appreciate delicious Sapporo, served as it should … icy cold. The best sign of how much we enjoyed the evening, is already made plans to come back. And thank you, Matt, for introducing to us yet another...
Read moreFantastic Thai and Sushi restaurant located in the Wayland Square area. The interior is very fancy looking with plenty of seating. There are booths, tables, and some seating at the sushi bar. I typically take out, but the dine in experience is generally better.
They offer a wide selection of Thai dishes and sushi options. It is just as good in-house as it is as take out. Personally, I think some of the flavors are hit or miss with the food. I do enjoy the Steamed Shumai and Steamed Gyoza as starters. They don't offer pan fried, but they do have deep fried that I have yet to try. My go to dishes are either the Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken or the Pad Thai with Chicken. These usually last two to three days as meals, especially if I add the appetizers at the beginning. The Pad Thai has been a little hit or miss for flavor. It is better in house than it is takeout, but that can be expected of a lot of places because some food doesn't travel well.
The staff member are all very friendly and they have good music playing inside. I would say Lim's is worth a try...
Read moreI ordered from Lim’s through GrubHub on Christmas Eve. My food arrived on time, but the yellowtail they served us in a sushi combo entree was FOUL. So foul we called the restaurant hoping they would not continue to serve that batch. We threw the whole plate out for fear of cross-contamination because food poisoning can be lethal and is not worth the risk.
The lady on the phone was trying to get us agree to come in for free sushi next time. Told us to just not eat the yellowtail and that the rest of it is fine. Luckily the chef’s stepped in and convinced her to refund it. And she told us to go through GrubHub for a full $30 refund. So GrubHub authorized a refund of just over $2 for probably the price of the piece of fish.
I am very unhappy with this establishment that doesn’t care about the safety of their customers and honestly kind of ruined our Christmas dinner. We never got a refund past $2
Absolutely would never come here again and am telling my friends who have been coming here for years to stop because the quality has...
