Sorry I canāt bring myself to give you a better rating. The only good experience for me was that the food presentation was nice.
When I first walked in, the waitress just stared at me without directing me to a table. I waited and finally asked if they were open. I wanted to sit by the window with the high stools, the previous customers just left. The waitress just tried to direct me to another seat. I expressed wishes to sit there and told her to take her time no rush at all about the cleanup. I just wanted to sit by the window because I would like to see the view outside. I donāt think it was a rude request as the restaurant was super quiet and slow on a Friday night. Not busy at all.
When my bf and I finally got seated, there was a homeless man with some cleanup equipments just wanted to see if he can get a few bucks for cleaning the window outside the restaurant (he never came in to the restaurant at all). I understand this is a small town and people here might not be used to dealing with homeless people. One of her kitchen coworkers went out to talk to the homeless man and gave him some money. And the homeless person left. Shortly after that, he returned back to the kitchen to work. This waitress was acting out on her anxiety and kept asking why is he outside even after her coworker came back. It just made the atmosphere very tense and strange. After all, there are customers dining in. And the waitess started saying she thought my bf and I were knocking on the door before coming in to ask if it is still open (mind you, we didnāt knock we just open the door), & accused it was the homeless man who was knocking the whole time).
I got the coconut risotto with fried palm heart and the passion fruit Thai tea. They werenāt good at all tbh with youā¦
The passion fruit Thai tea was basically passion fruit syrup with a splash of coconut milk (completely different ratio compare to ones I see on your google review) When I told the waitress about it, she asked if I wanted some water to be added to it. Instead of taking my drink to her station to remake or dilute it, she just came back with a full glass of water (around 16 oz). Mind you, the drink itself was full in the glass it came with, so idk how it would make sense for her to do that. So yes, your waitress was very unprofessional and rude.
My bf wanted to say something about it or just leave but I didnāt want to exacerbate the awkwardness and tension in this restaurant. And also, we were here just as tourists from out of town. So we just paid and left after...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst Iād like to start off by saying Iāve dined at the other local Vegan establishments in the providence area and for this place being not as large in size and new I am beyond blown away with the Service, attentiveness of the wait staff, head chef & Management, cleanliness and quality of food along with presentation. I would say this place still has plenty of indoor and outdoor dining! Iām from Massachusetts and will always make the trip for some good vegan food and a friend of mine who lives in providence told me about Pianta so I figured I would make a trip of it and brought my husband and 9 month old down for the day. Upon arrival there was plenty of street parking on Atwells Ave. and when we entered the building we were greeted by the Host Lilly who was very nice and seated us outdoors and brought a high chair for my son and assisted us in the daily specials (which were amazing) We started with the Meze platter, steak and cheese egg rolls and Strawberry Habanero BBQ chicken with the (special)poutine & gravy with chive cheese curds and for lunch, prosciutto & apricot grilled cheese which was absolutely delicious followed by the passion fruit Thai tea and rosemary lemonade which were so refreshing! Then after eating we were so full so Lilly had suggested we could take a walk down to Kennedy plaza for PVD fest which was really nice and only about a mile away then come back for dinner so we did and had the sausage and broccolini which was clean and packed with so much flavor followed by the dessert special, Cast Iron Banana Bread with cream cheese mousse vanilla bean ice cream and salted caramel. Itās was probably the most delicious dessert Iāve ever had in my life (no exaggeration). If I could give this place 10 stars I would. The only thing I wished for was that they had a changing table in the restroom for my son but I spoke with Michelle and she said they would have one very soon and apologized for the inconvenience because they are a new establishment but assured me my next trip theyād have one in and that she appreciated my feedback. You can definitely tell the staff in this establishment aim for customer service and overall experience is their top priority. I will be making Pianta a routine stop with my family when we are in Providence! Thank you all for a wonderful Saturday! We...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeing a former culinary professional, I venture to many restaurants throughout states to try different cuisines and restaurants. I am not a vegan per day but Pianta has outshined any of the many restaurants, vegan and non vegan, that I have experienced and possibly converted me to the vegan lifestyle! I suffer from major dietary restrictions with dairy and certain meats and struggled immensely finding good food from restaurants that could compensate for my new restrictions while still giving me satisfaction. PIANTA HAS SET A NEW STANDARD OF DINING FOR ME! From their filling Crispy Buffalo āChickenā Salad with bursts of flavor and creamy, non-dairy and delicious Ranch dressing to their outstanding and refreshing Rosemary Lemonade, none other can compare! Pianta breaks any misconceptions and stereotypes of what vegan cuisine is āsupposedā to taste like because as a non vegan, it left me wanting more and realizing I can fully convert to this lifestyle happily!
I just left Pianta for their 4-Course International Prix Fix Menu for Vegan Restaurant Week and it was the BESTTTTTT menu I have had in years! The crispy and decadent French Onion inspired Croquettes, a Lebanese āFetaā Salad, the most flavorful and fragrant Japanese Ramen Soup I have ever had and ending the night with a buttery, soft and DELICIOUS South African Apricot Cake with Vanilla Ice āCreamā was an experience of a lifetime and made me want to make this way of eating my everyday lifestyle! The chef is a culinary genius who understands the depth of flavors, culinary techniques and can make vegan food look and taste top tier, sexy and D E L I C I O U S!!
Dining out was so boring and uninteresting before I found Pianta on Federal Hill. I am either eating at home or I am getting weekly take out or dining in with my Pianta family! There has not been anything that I tried that I didnāt enjoy so please give it a try and thenā¦go back and try so more! The best place to eat no matter what your eating preferences are on Federal Hill. Trust me, you do not want to miss this spot and what it has to offer! My highest and most esteemed recommendations!
