Itâs honestly disheartening to have a server who made it so blatantly obvious that they could care less about a friends life threatening allergy. Not only was he just flippant about the whole thing, the way he spoke to my friend about the allergy question was incredibly rude and condescending. He made no effort to check in with the kitchen about the allergy until we spoke up about how careless he was being. His initial response was, âThe kitchen wonât know eitherâ and that poses more problems than solutions. People with life threatening allergies should be able to go out and enjoy themselves while making every conscious effort to avoid ingesting the allergen. While there is a risk eating out for those people, they trust that the kitchen preparing the food can help steer them towards dishes they know have less risk of exposure (especially if the waiter is completely oblivious to it). Their disregard for the situation and inability to answer these important questions to some degree should absolutely make anyone going there wary of all FOH and BOH behavior. As a comparison, every single establishment we went to before and after this either knew the allergen information immediately or made every effort they could to find out because they appreciated us as customers. Too many excellent restaurants in PTown to ever bother...
Read moreMy friend and I had dinner here in May and it was okay. Our server was Julie and she was very attentive I was really impressed with how they had their specials displayed on a tablet for persons to see what the meal actually looked like before ordering it I think that was a plus. The product knowledge I would give them a five out of a ten I wanted a nice glass of red wine but Julie was unable to help she called the bartender who didn't seem to know the different wines and the year either it was not until after dinner I had asked to use the bathroom which I was directed downstairs that's where I saw a beautiful wine cellar with all their different wines... I would say for future reference you could always ask as guest to see the different collections you have downstairs.. from my understanding the restaurant is a fine dining restaurant but I did not like how they were serving beverages without a tray I kept seeing the bartender with drinks in his hand walking towards different tables it didn't look professional at all. Before we left Julie took a flyer from her back pocket and a handed it to us inviting us to her show I really wasn't sure what to think of that but I took it and said thanks.all in all it was fairly a good experience and then there are lots of rooms for...
Read moreThis is a review regarding their gluten free options and lack of knowledge from the wait staff.
This place has very few gluten free offerings. Only 3 meals on the entire menu had GF next to it. I was still grateful they had any. I ordered the chicken and mashed potatoes. When I ordered, I asked the server to alert the kitchen to make sure it was GF. He looked at me confused and said how could this meal be GF, it has potatoes? I then pointed to the menu where it says GF and said, why would potatoes not be GF, do you put something in them? He said, because potatoes arenât. At this point, I was so terrified to even eat here. He came back from the kitchen and said it can be GF if they removed the gravy.
Why doesnât the wait staff know what is GF and what isnât? Why donât they know their own menu? Why would you even include gluten gravy on and meal marked GF. It wasnât marked GF optional or something. Just GF. Imagine if I didnât ask questions? How unprofessional and dangerous.
I ate here because I was desperate, but what a scary experience. I will not return. The food was fine in...
