Forget the ambiance and decor (the little that exists doesn't warrant much discussion). And certainly forget the unfriendly little troglodyte who sells beverages and ice cream beside the pizza counter (note to that guy: get another job. fast).
The pizza at Spiritus is wonderful. Just so we're clear, I had their pizza while I was completely sober. I wasn't some 1am barfly who was so wasted that my hunger would have been just as easily satisfied by a vending machine sandwich.
My friends and I shared a whole pie, half plain, half pepperoni. The pepperoni was oozing orange grease and it had a slight kick of heat to it. That's a good thing in my book. The crust was sheet thin and crispy and the right balance of cheese and sauce made for a very satisfying tasting. I'm a New Yorker who's had DiFara Pizza and Louie & Ernie's, and I'm not saying Spiritus is up to that level, but I am saying it's good.
P.S. Be aware, you're paying Cape Cod prices and Spiritus accepts cash only. The service here is non-existent. You pick up your pie at the counter when they...
Read moreI've never ever ever witnessed nor experienced the smug, rudest and unprofessionalism from any eatery employee (let alone Spiritus - Peovincetown). I called at 10:42pm requesting a sml pizza, the young lady (who anseered the phone) said they only make Large pies at that time. I then ordered 3 slices for take out. She reminded me that they close soon, and I said I will be there. I get there, she said they don't take slice orders over the phone, i said i just spoke with you. She said she couldn't have known I would show up. (I was there in 6 minutes from our convo).4/18/24. SPIRITUS - YOU WILL NOT GET MY BUSINESS EVER AGAIN DUE TO THAT RUDE RUDE EMPLOYEE. I WOULD FIRE HER. I don't say that lightly. She is a Business killer. She was extremly arrogant & rude. I would take Batali gropes, Durgin Patk servers over this young lady in any establishment I owned!!! She kills all you have worked for to gain and maintain your...
Read moreThis place is laughing all the way to the bank. A thin crust cheese pizza with a splash of sauce and even less cheese will set you back $20. On top of that it is flavorless and they charge $3 for a slice of cheese. I believe they also offer pepperoni and greek for $4 a slice. I think they thrive on a crowd of very hungry club customers that don't even care about what they are eating. If this place was in New York or Boston they would not survive on the product they serve. My advice is don't waste your money and don't be peer pressured into agreeing with long time customers that say it is great pizza, if you do, you will just be lying to yourself. Honestly, take a good look at that slice of pizza the next you go in there....oh and...
